I for one thought it was a decent puzzle, and a pretty good introduction to portal orientation too. I certainly learned something new about cube droppers today!

not a big fan of the cube catch either but it wasn't too hard. The puzzle made some good use of portalarity but the last bit felt a bit too easy with the portalable surface on the piston .

@SHOOD, yeah it is probably my least favorite, but I do like the idea behind the secret

The main puzzle was a bit easier than the rest but the secret was a bit of work. Very enjoyable map

@Rooke, great job! Yeah I regret forcing the cube catch. If I were to remake this map I'd make a few tweaks to be more friendly to non-action players. The real challenge is the bonus disc. Good luck! Only TUBER 10 left!

Finally caught the cube on the 4th try... That was the most difficult part. Already knew about the portal bottom/top orientation. From there it was just making sure I was standing where I needed to be when setting the portals.

@v0rtex2002, oh I am surprised! I thought you would not like the reflexes in the fling and the cube catch. (There is also a fairly easy fling that kind of skips a huge part of the map that I overlooked, but most people solve it as intended). The main goals of the map were to teach that portal orientation matters and get that weird bonus puzzle working. Glad you liked it because it is pretty finicky.

Only one TUBER map left. It is an experimental one. Hope you are open-minded!

@| \_/ (), hey! it's been a while. Glad you came back to the last couple of tests in TUBER! This one has an annoying catch and a weird secret...and as you note it is hard to spot the portal surface on the second piston but seems like you were okay with its shortcomings!

Good level. I had a quick moment when I thought the puzzle is impossible until I saw that the second piston panel isn't made out of glass. Nothing else to note.

@Vik, sorry you didn't like it. Timing isn't my favorite either, but at least if you missed the catch, it is a single click to reset and retry with a different timing. I thought it was pretty forgiving...plus it enabled the secret. But there are definitely other issues too. Thanks for trying it!

First on of your maps I didn't like. The timing on grabbing the cube in air was just frustrating and felt more like luck than anything else and the fact that you had to do it twice if you wanted the potato sucked. Other than that it was great but no vote from me on this one.

Very fun. Given my knack for doing things incorrectly, when I saw that last panel on the lift, I clenched. And personally I like jumping to catch cubes. Portal is about physics and it's always fun to fly around a chamber.

@jandlml, good decision. I intentionally put easier puzzles after hard ones to give your brain a break. #8 is probably the hardest of the lot. It is all about deciphering which order things need to be done.

And the portal magnets fighting the laser to make aiming through the pinhole in this one is annoying but I cannot change the fundamental code to make it less finicky in this one (#9). I hope you come back to #8 eventually and end on #10. You went through a lot today!

took a bit of trial and error to get the laser in the right spot for the disk puzzle but good fun! i had to skip the previous map for a bit . i couldnt seem to get anywhere past dropping the cube.

@Nobody No-One, the disc puzzle is the exact reason why it is placed in the sequence where it is. Glad you recognized that. I also think it reinforces portal orientation which comes in handy for the disc puzzle in the final 10th map.

One of the easiest puzzles in the series, imo, but also the cleverest disc challenge yet. Very cool stuff. Thumbs up.

Not yet, still few left in the queue. You should left the cube to drop next to the bank so player could just come back 180 and pick it up from the shore.

Sorry--I didn't know it would ruffle so many feathers. I kind of needed it to auto-respawn on a loop for the bonus secret...so it kind of was the crux of the whole puzzle. Definitely one of the weakest of the series. I'll concede

Yeah the fling thing for the cube is always annoying run, I think it is better for it if you don't do that again.

Nice little bit of mid-casual action. Always pleasure with a well-lit and edifying puzzle.

Generally a good idea for a map thank you but leap to catch a cube is always a poor idea.

I think the laser through the pinhole was cool, but I really wish it worked every time. I have a portal magnet that should make it work 100%, but because of the laser, the portals are also coded to favor including the beam, so they often ignore the magnet, much to my dismay. . I see your cursor hovering on the dislike button! I suspect this is your least favorite so far--you are not obligated to give a thumbs up if you do not think it is worthy! Our friendship will not be jeopardized! I am nervous for your comments on the last chamber...

I'm not keen on the fling to catch the cube and getting the laser field to turn off seemed a bit finicky, but the rest was OK intended solution including easter egg ?

Short and sweet puzzle, Though the extra timing with the cube catch I felt was unnecessary.
