Honestly I would agree with Kingkrool but all the colors look like they fit just fine, and I couldn't decide which one would be fine getting axed (Hah, get it?)

That's fair, I just don't want over-saturation.

@Kingkrool94 I did have 3 originally. Orange and blue are the same version, just team colored. However, I got a lot of requests to make orange be a standalone color so I made an optional separate red version. Valve would then be the one to decide if they wanted red/blue or orange/blue.

why so many versions? why not make just 3?

I like the candles, I like the signs on the floor. However, I think the particle effects that come out of the floor don't match the devil theme that well. For example, the "barely visible aura" near the candles reminds me mostly of angels.

Thanks for the kind words! I thought about it and decided to make an optional red variant and let Valve decide.

There are a few blue-ish taunt effects already (smissmas 2019), but idk how keen Valve is on adding more. Imo blue could work on its own with some purple-ish color fades, though idk how much you'd want to keep the purple variant at that point. Color variants always kinda have this issue, since any more than 3 total is a bit many.

IMO teamcolored taunt effects are neat, but don't really impact team recognition. Ex. adding a blu variant for my infernal ritual would be silly, since blue blood doesn't make a whole lot of sense conceptually.

That's literally my only gripe though lol. Everything else is dope af, the spell circle is awesome and the candles are rly well done (had something similar in mind for infernal ritual early on, actually). Still very nice regardless :)

Blue version is look really cool. It is nice blue color (such color should be for team spirit footprints, ehh..) so for red team by logic should be red color . Om my opinion current solution look unlogic. Why need compromise? Why not use totally 5 colors or maybe just 2? (personally me like 5 :)

Yeah, and as I said orange can be team neutral. I'm just saying that it can also be used as a team color. Marigold's blue ver. is very pretty and some people like blue vers. so I wouldn't say it's without merit. Even on your Infernal Ritual a guy was asking for a BLU ver.

The blue ver. is something I envisioned the effect with from the start, because blue fire/ghosts are eerie and cool IMO. But Valve doesn't typically accept blue vers. without a red ver., so I used orange as a complementary/team color. This also matches the blue and orange underworlds in TF2.

I did originally consider pairing the blue ver. with a red ver., and having orange be separate, but then I would risk shafting one of the other vers. to avoid having too many. I figured this would be the best compromise to cover the usual colors while keeping the core blue ver., even if it's only "combo-able" on RED. Ultimately, the effect is doing well with that decision but I'll continue listening for feedback.

Yet there are numerous effects in-game that are orange on both teams. Marigold Ritual quite frankly didn't need a blu team variant either, and is only the second occurrence of orange/blue as team colors (Sparkly Spruce did it first, apparently). Orange has always been team neutral as far as unusual effects go.

Teamcolor just isn't necessary here imo. The blu variant is just gonna mess with people that want to combo this w/ other hat effects
Fireshock  [author] 27 Sep, 2023 @ 2:49pm
@a zephyr Cream Spirit is yellow on BLU. Orange being RED's secondary color and yellow being BLU's secondary color is a core design element of TF2. While orange can be team neutral, you can go across the game and find hundreds of examples of orange being specific to RED (war paints, cosmetics, map colors, etc).

I created this specifically with the blue variant in mind so ditching it is a no-go. Speaking of precedents, last year Marigold Ritual got in which was orange on RED and blue on BLU so I figured following that example would be fine. That being said I'm open to feedback so if people would rather have orange be standalone I will consider it.

Calling orange team colored is a little silly when cream spirit is just two different shades of orange (+ mann co. orange exists). I think you could ditch the blu team variant altogether, there's already a precedent for orange/purple/green with hellfire, those bat effects, etc.

People who have unusuals with orange effects not will be happy have this taunt orange color only for red team :) Personally me for example want this only orange version and possible purple, but more orange because in game exist Infernal Flames but not exist orange version.
Fireshock  [author] 26 Sep, 2023 @ 4:44pm
@W0lt I did consider making a separate red one, but I didn't want to have too many variants. Ultimately, I liked the orange/blue contrast and orange can be considered a team color for RED (see: Cream Spirit), so I figured it would work.
W0lt 26 Sep, 2023 @ 7:38am
Why red team color look like orange? Maybe better make it red, and add orange if green and purple is exist.
farkrits 25 Sep, 2023 @ 3:33pm
You don't need the ugly neon green and purple colors. Other than that, pretty good effect.
