At first I was like "oh wow that's actually a pretty cool unusual taunt effect" but then I realised it's a cosmetic and it just doesn't work good as a cosmetic mostly because of how it covers the entire player model and also there already is a very similar cosmetic in the game that's much better.

Even disregarding the debate surrounding team colour recognition, the real issue is that the item is just too visually noisy and takes up too much real estate on each merc's model. A majority of cosmetics in the game only take up around 50% of a characters body or are otherwise limited to one region (Head/Chest/Legs) with a minority of exceptions. These exceptions are outliers for a reason.

Multiple people can be wrong at once. You're free to dislike the visual aesthetics of the item, but the idea that this item significantly obscures team colors is objectively and mathematically wrong. The total percentage of the character's body covered by opaque pixels is miniscule, and the parts that ARE covered are neutrally-colored. Just squint at the characters, shrink them down, or apply a gaussian blur or something and you'll see that the white webs are so completely and utterly dominated by the underlying team colors to the point that you can barely even tell they're present at all.

If you're going to parrot a bunch of talking points verbatim from a YouTube video, you should at least stop to think about whether they actually apply.

Also, for the record, even if the concerns WERE valid, this item was not accepted this year (and is thus unlikely to be selected in the future), so it would not be worth my time to redo it from scratch when I could be working on new ones instead.

It's not just a few very thin white lines on top. it's a LOT of thin white lines on top. It's definitely too cluttering on player models that can affect team recognition. The worse one to me is spy. Tone down the quantity of webs and I think it's a nice decal to the player model especially with Crone dome hats

I agree, the visual noise is just too much. It's a novelty item for sure, and it is well made in how the webs were designed and such, but I'm afraid that the visual noise will become even worse the lower the anti-alias is (or the lack of anti-aliasing when it's disabled for that matter).

its just ugly, i like the idea but it just doesnt look very good, and i dont know if you COULD salvage a good looking cosmetic out of this idea because it adds so much detail to the mercs and its way too bright, i wish i could give you more meaningful constructive feedback, but honestly, the best advice i can give you is to do an art study on tf2, and really get a fundamental understanding of how this game was built, and you will understand why i am being this harsh. sorry man, its just not very good.

wow this is awful, a complete eyesore to even look at in game, if it were to get added i pray to Christ it's halloween restricted cuz this is too much of a monstrosity to look at

the white feels to strong and their heads & faces should have less webbing but other than that it looks super cool, i especially love the voodoo soul bonuses
