@PhotoFinn Ah, I see. I've actually looked through the code of Cursed Trapdoors, StageAPI and Revelations and, yeah, StageAPI doesn't seem to support adding curses post floor transition as of now.

Perhaps you should try filling an issue or contacting StageAPI devs to see if they would add the support for it? Maybe as a custom callback or something.

@.tea Looking back, the "compatible with StageAPI" statement was a bit of a misnomer. The mod functions with it, nothing breaks, but because StageAPI currently uses a stage transition method different from the base game, our cursed trapdoor system doesn't work with it.

This seems to be something they'd have to fix on their end unfortunately. I'm really, really sorry for the inconvenience, the description will be updated to clarify this

Hello! Figured I'd drop by and post an update regarding the mod's status, as it's been a bit.

Accursed 2.0 is on the way, I'm going to upload it either tomorrow, or Sunday, depending on when I'm free. It's going to be a separate upload as it uses REPENTOGON's functionalities for some specific, but extremely cool features (for example, Curse of the Labyrinth now properly works with the cursed trapdoor system!). I don't want 1.0 users getting jumpscared with sudden compatibility requirements lmao

This page will be updated accordingly nudging players to the new version, should they want to upgrade.

I noticed that I didn't get any curses for alternate chapters when I have Revelations installed. Is it just me being lucky, or does this mod not support trapdoors in the Hub room of Revelations? I see from the description that it supports StageAPI, but not Revelations explicitly, so I'd like to know if it works for that mod.

This should absolutely be a mechanic in base game. Multiple trapdoors on a floor rarely if ever have a purpose.

Also, what happens on the first floor with this mod? Do you get a random curse as usual, or is it always curse-free (aside from XL)?

Well yeah, obviously it's rare since you need both curse rolls to land on the specific curses, but currently that possibility is the only thing preventing me from installing the mod. Would it be possible to add that as a modconfig setting?

I've talked with Catto about it. Unfortunately, there is no concrete fix to this issue we can achieve through RGON yet. Only a theoretical solution that may or may not be possible.

In the meantime, I'll discuss about adding some sort of "pity check" to make sure people don't get Lost and Labyrinth at the same time. (playing the mod on my spare time, though, I've found the situation is extremely rare. I've never had it happen to me)

"Due to API limitations, Curse of the Labyrinth is unable to work with these mechanics. Until the API is updated, Labyrinth simply shows up randomly like normal, alongside any curse you may get from a trapdoor."

Wouldn't it be better to negate the trapdoor curse if the floor generates as an extra large one? Not particularly enjoying the idea of having to go through an XL floor with Curse of The Lost.

Curses are easily the worst part of Isaac. This would easily make them more bearable.

I think this is a good idea, maybe make trap doors more common, and make the rewards better for the curse ones.

installing this mod, i wasnt able to see the symbols even after fixing the compatibility and also made every floor cursed. upon uninstalling this mod, my game literally will not launch without it crashing. i reinstalled it, and now its fine again. i do not understand

@冰淇淋 You're supposed to be able to see which curse it is, but there's currently an incompatibility with MiniMAPI and Curse API (the mod that makes Curse of the Actually Lost work) that causes the icons to not show up. Until those mods are given compatibility, please don't use them alongside this one! Sorry!

This is genuinely one of the best balance change ideas I've ever seen period. It makes an unfair mechanic feel a bit less unfair while at the same time giving an entirely useless mechanic a huge use to the point where you'd want to seek it out. Bravo, well done.

@TheTurtleMelon Not 100% confirmed, but I can say the error is likely caused by an incompatibility with MiniMAPI (more specifically a recent patch to it. nothing weird showed up during initial testing).

A fix will come within the next few days, but for now, please disable that mod if you'd like to play with this one! My apologies!

@TheTurtleMelon I may know what's causing that error with trapdoors, lemme look into it. If it's what I believe it to be, then it should be an easy fix.

for some reason the curse icon does not show up above the trapdoor, i only see the smoke

Of course, your idea of better duplicates, like from "We need to go deeper", would still be super useful cause it could spawn non-cursed trap doors, or "better" curses.

What about a toggle in the options to, if the next floor is to be cursed, have two curses available in the boss room at the end? Sorta an "either / or" choice. Could be an interesting gameplay tweak.

Wow Ehwaz runes, we need to go deeper, and those random trapdoors that appear when you step on a Reward Plate button have real utility now, this is a creative and unobtrusive game mechanic that should be in the base game. Awesome stuff!

@Big Macc, it depends. This mod revamps a big in-game system, uprooting that code and turning it into an item may be a difficult process. If enough people want the option of having this turned into an item, we'll certainly look into it!
