This is a known issue that I believe has to do with possibly the base game and I do not know how to fix.

i have this mod on my server but the flashlight isn't turning on when its on my belt its a vanilla belt

So maybe it's the vanilla flashlight, or the Blackout mod adds its own flashlight but I can put the flashlights on my belt except for one type that the blackout mods trait spawns you with.

is there a possibility of preventing the Dismantle Flashlight option from coming up if you have the flashlight favorited to make it in-line with vanilla expectations?

The gas lantern cannot be filled with gasoline even with the gas lantern and a gas can or a bottle of gasoline in the main inventory.

@SennyツI have a lot of mods on the server, do you have any idea which mod category usually changes this? Craft? Clothing?

@pX It's possible it could be the belt if the belt/toolbelt is modded. I know there's a couple of modded ones that don't allow flashlights on the belt. Be sure to double check with that as well.

Guys, I installed the mod, everything is fine, there is no error on the dedicated server, but I can't put the flashlight on my belt, can anyone help me?

@𝐊𝐚𝐨𝐞𝐔𝐭𝐬𝐮 I can't recall if there's a mod that does it but it'll tell you what mod an item comes from. But to be more in-depth, you would have to check the mod files and check the code. But if this mod is truly the issue, I honestly wouldn't know how to fix it myself. I only uploaded this based on a code change someone had given to me before and decided to implement it to fix the "null" error the original mod gives. If you have more experience with this stuff and wish to explore it you can :cwat:

@𝐊𝐚𝐨𝐞𝐔𝐭𝐬𝐮 This is a first I'm hearing of this. I would double check to see if maybe another mod conflicts with the item ID.

@404 As stated in the description, you do not need the original mod because this is essentially the original mod + fix so I wouldn't recommend running them together as it could give you conflicts. As for Authentic Z and Noir's attachments, I have ran a server with them before including this mod and it works together just fine.

if you try to remove all batteries from the toy flashlight, it gives you infinite batteries

Just only use this mod. This mod already includes the original + the fixed code.
You do not need the original mod.

@>) By the game itself, you can see other people's lights and your light can be shown to others if your flashlight is in your left/right hand. You cannot see someone's light if they're enabling the flashlight from their inventory/quickslot. Hopefully that's something that will be fixed/adjusted in B42.

I have a stupid question actually: I noticed that other players can't see the light of my hand-crank flashlight, but I can see the light of their torches which are from this mod. So is this like a vanilla thing or did this mod do something about this practicular problem?

@Rubber Ducky If you're talking about the original mod, you might as well just use this one as the original mod is already included with only a certain section of code changed.

@everyone else I just barely saw the reccomendation for the code change to run more optimal and I plan to implement it sometime this week. Thank you :cwat:

@Inferno You can only see other people's light's if they're held in your characters hand and not by hotkey if I recall.

They use the exact same files as the original mod but with the change added to fix the error. In theory it should be okay since the item ID's should be the same but I'm not sure due to the information coming from a different mod.

If you're not too sure, I'd make a backup of your world currently and try to swap it to see if it'll be fine doing so. If you're able to test that for me I could mention that it's safe to do so.

What if I remove the original mod and install this one, will I be able to keep my flashlights or do I have to find/spawn them?
