Nice!

Nice classic Portal map! Fun with a twist at the end. Thanks!

I love the fact that you've included 'extra' areas, not many have the vision to see the point of it.
jam.lab1 8 Jul, 2015 @ 12:56pm
Good job. Fun map.
squid 25 Jun, 2015 @ 2:38pm
ok thx

You know what, with how many people ending up doing that, I might just. Because that's just getting silly, now...
Wolf bytes 23 May, 2015 @ 8:01pm
Very nicely done! I can see you put a lot of thought into this chamber, and I love how you allowed the player to roam the rooms at certain times to give a feel of freedom, but yet restricted jumping when it would bypass the intended solution.
My only suggestion is allowing the first chamber's doors to re-open if the player falls back to the beginning, as I was curious and wound up there. Otherwise definitely a favorite.

Outstanding - nice map....thanks for creating.
Dr. FeelGoose 4 Dec, 2014 @ 11:22am
This is not that bad a chamber. Good job!
Petutski 18 Nov, 2014 @ 2:18pm
Great fun jumping and little "turnaround" at the end! Good job!

Reminds me of "One Way Or Another"

Let me know, I'll play whatever you want me to. :D

Yeah, my first underground map, intended to be simple. Might improve in the future.
TS_Mind_Swept 14 Sep, 2014 @ 6:25pm
it was nice, but kind of simple overall, visuals were great, and each little test was interesting, that office area was a disappointment though. 8/10

My #1 complaint: the lighting. The fix (super-easy!): use the Full Compile -both -final mode (found by clicking on "Advanced"). Everything else is secondary, and this is a wonderful test :p2cube:

This map was amazing! I really like the catwalks everywhere. Couple of minor things: In the paintdroppers you should place a tube_paint_interior_cap model to prevent the insides being see-through. Your fizzler textures are misaligned (the semicircular effects around the emitters are in the wrong places). For the red-board models, use the "fizzler_underground" texture and make sure you press "fit". For the grey wall emitters (and modern wide fizzlers) you need to make a bunch of parts - 64 wide sections on the sides, and a piece in the middle to match your fizzler size. Use the "fizzler_underground_wide_" center/left/right textures. Make sure to "Fit" them all, and rotate if necersary to get the effects to line up. Make a seperate trigger_portal_cleanser for each pair of models (vertically).

Great - great - great. I could wander around forever just admiring the scenery.I'm an explorer, not that nuts about ninja puzzles that are ultimately futile.
Long to wander the earth, can't, so I wander around in Portal.
Very nice work here.
Vezixig 2 Sep, 2014 @ 12:47pm
Relly nice map. On the last jump I landed on the rails and almost fell to death ^^
Butane Boss 2 Sep, 2014 @ 6:33am
THE AMOUNT OF DECORATION. IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
cgregg 1 Sep, 2014 @ 6:45pm
This test was well thought out and nicely designed. It looks like something the mythical Aperture Corporation would actually have built. Good job.

:p2aperture: Woooow, GREAT map ... thanx for mapping, thumbs up! :krstar::krstar::krstar::krstar::krstar:

amazing

NIcely done! You did a great job on the look of this one. I had to stop half way through and just look around at the work you did. The puzzle itself was fairly simple, but still well planned. Big thumbs up :)
UMNSE 31 Aug, 2014 @ 10:18pm
Anywho it was a great map. I really liked the bts details around the sphere. The backstage office was very win! One thing to note that I didn't like was the lighting. There were Pure white lights in some areas. Also; there were a few messy visleafs. Besides those flaws, the puzzles were well balanced and the difficulty was akin to one of the early propulsion gel chambers in the campaign. Good work, two thumbs wayyy up!

Did either of you stop to think that maybe those reviewers are grilling your nuts so they don't get fried the next time? Did Steve Jobs [y'know, the bloke at the fruit-based computer company] just waltz on through life birthing innovation out of his ass? No. Most certainly not. He did so because people told him he SUCKED. Normally, people like you would give up because "oh, he's being mean." People like Jobs, though, took the critique like a man and fixed what was wrong with a smile on his mug. Point is; the grilling will make you a better person/mapper/innovator.

i can testify that they will infact bbq your nuts and present them to you on a skewer.
Anachronistic ALLOS  [author] 31 Aug, 2014 @ 7:04pm
I used the Portal 2 Authoring Tools, otherwise known as Hammer. Google that.

But, before you try that. Make sure you know what you're doing before publishing ANYTHING. If you don't, the reviewers will grill you like a porkchop in a furnace.
squid 31 Aug, 2014 @ 6:05pm
really cool, but could you please let me know how you did it? I would like to make a map and be sure to thatnk you
Blappeture Executive No.1 31 Aug, 2014 @ 4:30pm
well chalk it up to aperture's decaying test spheres being deadly literally 100% of the time
Anachronistic ALLOS  [author] 31 Aug, 2014 @ 3:11pm
Assuming you mean getting stuck back at the entrance, by logic and common sense you wouldn't need to go back there, nor would there be any reason to. It's like a bottomless pit without a guardrail; it's there, but you don't need to jump down it unless it appears that the solution is at the bottom. To make an example of what I mean.
Blappeture Executive No.1 31 Aug, 2014 @ 2:48pm
great map, but you need to keep let the first door open when the player walks off the roof of the first chamber when lurking about the catwalk
bluemime86 31 Aug, 2014 @ 11:33am
Really well done test. Liked the use of the repeated gels. But one tip for future UG maps: just make sure you have the fog haha, it's really important. Has taken me a while, but I did it. Super! Thank you
Elenarda 31 Aug, 2014 @ 9:33am
Hat bei mir lange gedauert aber ich habe es geschafft. Super!
Danke
scalding 31 Aug, 2014 @ 8:51am
Great!
dmuk 30 Aug, 2014 @ 1:03pm
Really liked the fact that you got the testers "out of the box(es)" and wandering around backstage, as it were, especially the part on top of the chamber where you see the air ducts, temp walkway plywood, and scrawled notes from the grunts who built the place!
Portalized 30 Aug, 2014 @ 8:51am
Liked the use of the repeated gels, but I almost missed that last panel to the exit - walked around for a while until I finally found saw it. Thanks for making! Fun!
Disastrous 28 Aug, 2014 @ 3:27pm
Really well done test. Not too challenging, but definitely an out of the box solution.
n/a 28 Aug, 2014 @ 10:42am
Okay, just make sure you have the fog haha, it's really important
Anachronistic ALLOS  [author] 27 Aug, 2014 @ 8:37pm
Yeah, I was contemplating on an env_projected_texture, but I wasn't sure if any of the light clusters I had set up was in a prime position to where the entity would have the best effect. Still, a thing to think about in the future.
n/a 27 Aug, 2014 @ 6:46pm
BIG SUGGESTION: Add an env_fog_controller!!!!....also, I strongly recommend an env_projected_texture coming from one of the sets of big lights.. try to make it cast on as many places as possible.
grog 27 Aug, 2014 @ 10:14am
Brilliant!
Nobody No-One 27 Aug, 2014 @ 10:11am
Looks nice! One tip for future UG maps: You should add fog. It's not necessary, but it just adds that extra bit that makes the test great.
comet 26 Aug, 2014 @ 2:59am
It's a really cool and well thought out test chamber! I especially liked how every test was linked together in some way, it made me feel smart figuring out that for the first time :D.
