I actually don't know of any named Astropaths which is a problem. From doing some quick research i can only think of Varrus who is mentioned in the Deathwatch core book.
Could you tell me more ? And if you have any name characters, i can take a look.
I had read your comments on the matter in the Devastator Pack discussion and had hoped as one of the original units, the Hydra would be among those that could be.
Would have made a good Wyvern too if the barrels could just be shortened to about a 20th of their length.
Given their gas masks the engineers would probably need to be based on the Stormtroopers.
But I guess there are only so many retextures of the same infantryman model until they all look alike.
As for Jurgen he was obviously already planned, with his known meltagun, to support Ciaphas with this unique skills. The Cain edition will contain several characters from the novels.
As for a shotgun squad, i originaly have the idea to make a Catachan one. But as for the Death Corps, it's quite difficult to find a good model to texture.
As for the Death Guard, it will concern a Warlord from one of the Black Legion novel. How deserve to be more known. Should be released pretty soon.

In this case to his adjutant Ferik Jurgen who is known for driving around in a Salamander Scout...which we don't have.
Despite the glaring differences I think the Hydra once the large skyward pointing Twin Autocannons were removed and a single Autocannon was mounted centrally in the gunshield like structure in front of the gunnery platform could work as an adequate stand-in for a Salamander Scout.
And with either a Heavy Bolter or a Flamer for a Slamander Command of course.
There's an interesting antagonist called Garstag in it.
Anyways I've got two other ideas though I'm not sure how much you'll like the second one.
First: Death Corps Engineers.
As armaments they usually use shotguns.
There is an Astartes Shotgun on the Scout Bikes that could serve used as a basis for a mortal infantry weapon.
I'd recon the engineers would have the usualy assortment of grenades, mines (also from the scout bikes), and the clear tile ability to simulate the clearing of trenches and similar obstacles.
Hope you'll like the new Death Guard hero and his minions (Blight Lord and Plague Marine).

Anyways in Armageddon's Golgotha Campaing Yarrick has two adjutants:
Col Teodor Helm and Col Sinburne (no known first Name).
In the game they are just faces on the screen that give you briefings.
Basically all you see of them are their head and shoulders.
But when pressed for named heroes I'll take what I can get.
From what I read about the Yarrick novel “Yarrick: Chains of Golgotha” both Helm and Rogge appear but not Sinburne.
A Mordian melee infantry => I'm totally for it (have you any information about "Sinbourne" i don't find anything on him).
A Baneblade/Commissar hero for Yarrick => It looks pretty well in my mind. I try to avoid using the same model and since i will make Ciaphas Cain one day and for the weapons, the lasgun should be ok but not the power klaw since the weapon is tied to the orks units :( i prefer use a Baneflade again.
A Leman Russ Vanquisher hero => I've alreay planned to make more variation of the Leman Russ (but i can't find a color pattern for the Aumet 23rd Armoured) :(
I'll add them to the list for a Part II.
Of course it is implemented in a somewhat nonsensical way aremd with las rifles and sabers.
Pistols and sabers makes more sense and would be lore accurate.
So my somewhat nutty idea would be a Mordian Command Squad aremd with Las Pistols and Sabers based on the Commissar Model only painted blue. The Mordian Uniform with their hats already resembles the Commissar's uniform a lot.
Alternatively to follow your pattern of one hero: Sinbourne with the ability to summon a melee quad of Mordian Iron Guard troopers.

Should be doable with a Leman Russ tank and a scaled-down Baneblade main gun.
Perhaps one versionbased on the Tank Commander Model and one summonable version with the closed top?
Commissar Yarrick
Either in his Baneblade Tank "Fortress of Arrogance", his black Command Chimera or on foot
The latter would be the most troublesome as he is usually depicted with the mechanical claw on his right arm and the stormbolter in his left.
Given the Commissar Model we have the Storm Bolter is possible and replacing the Saber with the claw from a Meganob probably too. But he'd be mirrored then.
