Found the culprit. forgot to change a few files to .xml.ext when i tried to set things up to have skiratas mods apply to the custom units.

have not verified game files, admittedly am i little reluctant to do so as i think i spent at least 3 hours tweaking things around(mostly cooldowns for like medkits and stuff, nothing affecting unit production). havent seen anyone else have this issue. will disable other mods and see what happens, i'll comment the results afterwards

Try to disable all mods without this one and check if the issue persist. Have you verified games files too ?

Did other peoples suffers the same issue ?

It's strange, i've just tested and they all are fully recruitable. Have you tried to disable the production mod to see if its works normally ?

Not sure why, but I cant get the game to spawn in any of the hereos. it doesnt show any cost for producing the unit, just the little symbol indicating it will take 1 turn to produce. then it just... doesnt do it. i dont have anything that alters cost of units, but i do have an increased production rate mod installed, and i cant think of what else could be conflicting. your other mods (astra militarum part 2 and cadian edition) work just fine for me.

I see you have many hero mods for each faction and if you ever come back around to do more may i suggest Commissar Sebastian Yarrick. And tho I do not have the DLC for it, I saw what you did for the Adeptus Mechanicus making squad heroes. I thought the commissar hero should be in a squad myself. Thank you for the amazing mods and keep up the amazing work.

So a little update: I was finally able to make it all work by deleting the config file in the mygames subfolder that is neither the mod nor the steam folder. I think this is also the place where the crash logs are made. I wish I had read your reply more rapidly but I deleted everything I could related to the game. I will try to lauch it with your other addon see if it makes everything crash again

You are correct. I did make it work once...then I installed an other mod you made that added cadian shock troops but it crashed at the game launcher. Maybe it created a .txt file somewhere that disabled a fonctionality. I deleted pretty much all the mod folder, the game and even some steam files but it still persist.

Hummm somehow this mod does not activate while others like artefacts and gladius + do activate without any errors. Are there dependencies that are needed to run it or maybe new dlc incompatibilities?

That is indeed their main role but in many cases they can also be attached to the Imperial Guard where they serve as advisors and also to lend psychic support where it is needed. You can also use them on the tabletop as a support unit for all imperium armies.

I actually don't know of any named Astropaths which is a problem. From doing some quick research i can only think of Varrus who is mentioned in the Deathwatch core book.

An Astropath on the battlefield ? I was thinking they're only used for traveling in the Warp or communicating in great distance.

Any chance of seeing a Astropath hero? If so he should be recruited from the Psyker Coven building and the abilities he has would be more defensive oriented compared to the Primaris Psyker. I could elaborate on the possible abilities if you want, but i'm sure you'd be able to figure it out on your own.

Well it's too bad the Hydra is among those that can't be modded.
I had read your comments on the matter in the Devastator Pack discussion and had hoped as one of the original units, the Hydra would be among those that could be.
Would have made a good Wyvern too if the barrels could just be shortened to about a 20th of their length.

Given their gas masks the engineers would probably need to be based on the Stormtroopers.
But I guess there are only so many retextures of the same infantryman model until they all look alike.

A huge amount of weapons/models cannot be altered, alas.

As for Jurgen he was obviously already planned, with his known meltagun, to support Ciaphas with this unique skills. The Cain edition will contain several characters from the novels.

As for a shotgun squad, i originaly have the idea to make a Catachan one. But as for the Death Corps, it's quite difficult to find a good model to texture.

As for the Death Guard, it will concern a Warlord from one of the Black Legion novel. How deserve to be more known. Should be released pretty soon.

The second is tangentially related to Cain.
In this case to his adjutant Ferik Jurgen who is known for driving around in a Salamander Scout...which we don't have.
Despite the glaring differences I think the Hydra once the large skyward pointing Twin Autocannons were removed and a single Autocannon was mounted centrally in the gunshield like structure in front of the gunnery platform could work as an adequate stand-in for a Salamander Scout.
And with either a Heavy Bolter or a Flamer for a Slamander Command of course.

If you're looking for a good novel for the Death Guard I'd recommend "Lords of Silence".
There's an interesting antagonist called Garstag in it.

Anyways I've got two other ideas though I'm not sure how much you'll like the second one.

First: Death Corps Engineers.
As armaments they usually use shotguns.
There is an Astartes Shotgun on the Scout Bikes that could serve used as a basis for a mortal infantry weapon.
I'd recon the engineers would have the usualy assortment of grenades, mines (also from the scout bikes), and the clear tile ability to simulate the clearing of trenches and similar obstacles.

Anyways in Armageddon's Golgotha Campaing Yarrick has two adjutants:
Col Teodor Helm and Col Sinburne (no known first Name).
In the game they are just faces on the screen that give you briefings.
Basically all you see of them are their head and shoulders.
But when pressed for named heroes I'll take what I can get.

From what I read about the Yarrick novel “Yarrick: Chains of Golgotha” both Helm and Rogge appear but not Sinburne.

Very interesting to read.

A Mordian melee infantry => I'm totally for it (have you any information about "Sinbourne" i don't find anything on him).

A Baneblade/Commissar hero for Yarrick => It looks pretty well in my mind. I try to avoid using the same model and since i will make Ciaphas Cain one day and for the weapons, the lasgun should be ok but not the power klaw since the weapon is tied to the orks units :( i prefer use a Baneflade again.

A Leman Russ Vanquisher hero => I've alreay planned to make more variation of the Leman Russ (but i can't find a color pattern for the Aumet 23rd Armoured) :(

I'll add them to the list for a Part II.

"Armageddon" gives us, in addition to the regular infantry, a command squad.
Of course it is implemented in a somewhat nonsensical way aremd with las rifles and sabers.
Pistols and sabers makes more sense and would be lore accurate.
So my somewhat nutty idea would be a Mordian Command Squad aremd with Las Pistols and Sabers based on the Commissar Model only painted blue. The Mordian Uniform with their hats already resembles the Commissar's uniform a lot.

Alternatively to follow your pattern of one hero: Sinbourne with the ability to summon a melee quad of Mordian Iron Guard troopers.

Here are some ideas using the Armageddon Game and in particular the Gologotha DLC as a basis.
(I also ordered the Yarrick Omnibus but it won't arrive until February)

Should be doable with a Leman Russ tank and a scaled-down Baneblade main gun.
Perhaps one versionbased on the Tank Commander Model and one summonable version with the closed top?

Commissar Yarrick

Either in his Baneblade Tank "Fortress of Arrogance", his black Command Chimera or on foot
The latter would be the most troublesome as he is usually depicted with the mechanical claw on his right arm and the stormbolter in his left.
Given the Commissar Model we have the Storm Bolter is possible and replacing the Saber with the claw from a Meganob probably too. But he'd be mirrored then.
