I also think you could implement that if the most influential power group or the power group to which the monarch belongs is dissatisfied (-8 or -10) or if there is a rebellion, a decision or option could be activated for that Monarch to abdicate the throne.
Also, if they have any traits such as Wounded, Cancer, Psychological Affliction, and others, they could abdicate.
Also, if they are over 70 years old, they could decide to abdicate, and pass the throne to their heir.
You could also make the generals of the royal family gain military traits faster or more op traits, since they would have more detailed training due to their status.

Whenever I start up a game, a bunch of countries seem to replace their monarchs, which leads to wacky situations like the Hohenzollerns ruling Austria, the Wettins ruling Britain and the Habsburgs ruling Russia. Is there any compatability issues that causes this?

Also, do you think you could make a royal court lite version, where instead of having to depose the current monarch to automatically get the decision, you can just swap the current monarch with a journal decision which only the player can do. That way it becomes more compatible with other mods because its not just the AI automatically doing it so you don't get the issue of monarchs getting deposed left and right because they don't have the royalty trait.

Did u fixed it? @Bordeaux Jeaux
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 28 Mar @ 11:31am
@CamiciaRossa I can't fix the fact that heirs can't have their own heirs, but I was able to implement heirs becoming a general
CamiciaRossa 21 Mar @ 2:25pm
I think there are two elements of the game's mechanics that stand out to me and need to be rebalanced:

The first is the issue of succession. Some monarchs can live very long and as a result their heir can take the throne at a very late age. However, this heir does not have an heir of his own and the game immediately generates a new heir at the age of 1. Heirs should have their own heirs. I also think that there should be several heirs and the player should be able to choose one of them as the heir to be the new king in the future.

The second issue is about military service. In many monarchies princes also command armies, but in monarchies of Victoria 3 we can only give command to the monarchs. Princes should also be appointed as commanders.

Updated to 1.8.6
Otto Von Cismarck 17 Jan @ 10:11am
after more testing, i found out, that more files in the character template folder are obsolete and needed to be changed
Otto Von Cismarck 11 Jan @ 5:42pm
So i found out why the mod crashes, its becaus of the country_rus.txt file. The file of this mod misses a lot of the characters of the orignal file. Probably because of the update, where Russia got reworked. I added the missing characters in this file and it longer crashes in 1837.

https://pixeldrain.com/u/VQsExzxU

It may crash later though, i didnt test it further for now
spontaneouswhale 24 Dec, 2024 @ 2:41pm
Concur with nankroo neisser. Game crashes with this mod enabled on 1837-11-22. Very odd!

AI nations is still popping the event and changing monarchs all round in January 1836. I got a Wettin Russia and Austria.
Zszywka 29 Sep, 2024 @ 12:18pm
I guess it shouldn't be normal that when playing as Vatican, a random politician is called Pius IX xd
Edeec 19 Aug, 2024 @ 7:59am
Please make the description more understanable.
Abd121 16 Jul, 2024 @ 7:17am
non that affect flavour no, just UI ones
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 15 Jul, 2024 @ 5:03am
Do you have any other mods enabled?
Abd121 14 Jul, 2024 @ 2:37pm
No the Update does not fix the problem of the "pick a new dynasty" triggered to everyone including the AI at game start.

so basically everyone randomly changes dynasty every game
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 9 Jul, 2024 @ 9:46am
@HowdyDooBroYT That's part of the base game. I incorporated that into the mod. If the Baltic governorates is NOT a subject of Russia they will choose a monarch.
HowdyDooBroYT 9 Jul, 2024 @ 1:17am
There seems to be a problem where the new Baltic puppet country in Russia chooses a monarch because it technically has the monarchy law
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 30 Jun, 2024 @ 6:30pm
@Abd121 working on an update
Abd121 30 Jun, 2024 @ 10:25am
this mod is broken, literally AI countries are changing monarchs on day one of the game
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 18 Mar, 2024 @ 1:11am
@Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia Unfortunately this seems like something that's out of my hands. Pedro has the "royal" trait with or without the COTS DLC, and Karl Anton von Hohenzollern has the trait as well.
Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia 12 Mar, 2024 @ 2:00pm
@Bordeaux Jeaux yeah, both Pedro and the COUNTY of Hohenzollern, do NOT have the Royal trait.

Ever, so they just get Replaced every game
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 11 Mar, 2024 @ 6:43am
@Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia That's so strange. I have Pedro with the trait in both the "BRZ" file and "historical_leaders_americas" file. Hohenzollerns of Prussia are in "historical_leaders_europe". My recommendation is to start by uninstalling the mod, and reinstalling it.

Are you using any additional mods? What DLC's do you have enabled? This could also be the case
Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia 11 Mar, 2024 @ 3:36am
@Bordeaux Jeaux I Checked the files for the mod on the Workshop And those ones.
Your's doesn't touch Brazil Anymore from the looks of it, the file is just Gone

And the County of Hohenzollern seems to have Never been touched Either, always changes Monarchs in Every game I've Had this mod in
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 11 Mar, 2024 @ 1:47am
@Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia Pedro does indeed have the "royal" on my end. Are you perhaps using other mods such as "royal splendor"? It could also be an error with the COTS DLC.
Frank-2, Martial of Frankoslavia 9 Mar, 2024 @ 1:25pm
@Bordeaux Jeaux There are Rulers like Pedro who are NOT Counted as a Royal.
Do you Count that as "Good" on your end??
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 8 Mar, 2024 @ 2:22am
@Joseamon What for? Everything looks good on my end
S. Erdem 7 Mar, 2024 @ 11:14am
need update
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 28 Jan, 2024 @ 2:17am
@Mark Kaj this is a very common bug that happens when used with another mod; particularly "Royal Splendor." Are you using this mod by chance? If so, the instructions are listed above.
Mark Kaj 26 Jan, 2024 @ 11:01am
Hi, at the start of my games a bunch of european monarchies crown new monarchs. Some real and some fictitious. Is this a bug or what could be the reason that this is happening? Pretty annoying as it kills the historicity of the game and i really like the mod.
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 11 Jan, 2024 @ 3:11am
@Professor Firebat As long as the country is European and has monarchy enacted, they will select a monarch. The event changes no laws. I've seen communist east Africa with a monarch... so...
Professor Firebat 10 Jan, 2024 @ 3:27pm
I'm not 100% on this but I believe the mod may be crowning monarchs for revolts that aren't necesarily monarchist? Like a lot of south american ones, which are usually anti-monarch.
FloodTheSwamp 7 Jan, 2024 @ 6:33am
@Bordeaux Jeaux that explains it, I was playing as greece who obviously isn't Protestant
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 5 Jan, 2024 @ 2:26am
@Contrarian Cat Yes it is. OPB did his Serbia playthrough with it
Contrarian Cat 4 Jan, 2024 @ 3:57pm
is this compatible with VTM?
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 3 Jan, 2024 @ 12:26pm
@FloodTheSwamp The Oldenburgs? Yes. You need to be protestant and NOT rivaling Denmark
FloodTheSwamp 3 Jan, 2024 @ 10:48am
Is it possible to get monarchs from the danish house?
Smeerkaas07 23 Dec, 2023 @ 3:47am
Could you if america chooses to be a monarchy make it possible for the to choose a Washington instead of a European dynasty
FizzyJuice 23 Dec, 2023 @ 3:18am
yes i used royal splendor but i think i used the correct order
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 22 Dec, 2023 @ 8:55am
@FizzyJuice are you using other mods? I know that if you are using Royal Splendor in the incorrect order it creates problems. See the mod description for details
FizzyJuice 22 Dec, 2023 @ 5:22am
then how does hohenzollern always change monarch
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 21 Dec, 2023 @ 11:46am
@FizzyJuice The "depose monarch" button is meant for roleplay purposes. The AI isn't allowed to use it, and there is nothing forcing the player to use it either.
FizzyJuice 20 Dec, 2023 @ 7:37am
also, the country of hohenzollern always coronates a new king, even a habsburg
FizzyJuice 20 Dec, 2023 @ 7:34am
the Depose Monarch button doesn't seem very realistic
Smeerkaas07 9 Dec, 2023 @ 12:46pm
I checked it is
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 9 Dec, 2023 @ 9:33am
@Archduke_Von_Habsburg Not sure
Smeerkaas07 7 Dec, 2023 @ 2:27pm
Is the mod compatible with the Victorian flavor mod
ILikeWebberFromDontStarve 7 Dec, 2023 @ 1:07pm
@Bordeaux Jeaux Thank you
Bordeaux Jeaux  [author] 7 Dec, 2023 @ 8:42am
@ILikeWebberFromDontStarve I'm always open to suggestions! Luckily, the Orleans house is already in the mod! To choose an Orleans monarch, you must not be rivalling france, not be supporting the Bonapartists or legitimists (for france only), and be catholic.
ILikeWebberFromDontStarve 6 Dec, 2023 @ 5:01pm
I'm not sure if you take suggestions but how about adding more royal houses like the Orléans house
