Yes, the scene from Elfen Lied that it portrays is very violent. It's probably way more violent than something I would have tried to make normally. However, it did give me a good challenge in having to make NPC sprites that died in interesting ways and having to modify animations (like the gunshots) to fit in the world screen as opposed to in battle mode, where they tend to be pretty large).
Modifying one of the Shoot Special animations to look like a scope reticule and then playing around with the movements and timing to make it swirl around and then focus in on the character was a personal high point for me at the time.
Probably not the right place for this but: I'm still working on the Bando version. I've been having a great time helping many other wonderful people with their own projects and got a bit sidetracked. I've been rewatching the episodes and just shaking my head at this guy... I really really don't like him for the most part. I'll probably make him die a lot. Finished the target range mini game and now to design the chopper scene.
I am sorry you're having trouble, I appreciate your willingness to take a look at the project. I know it's really short as it was just a gift I was making for my friend, The Dark One, who introduced me to the series. I hope we can get things sorted out.
Actually, it's a little complicated, the F12 key that normally does it actually causes RPGMaker to reload the Title screen so I have to take manual screenshots and then maybe load them as artwork. I think I can get a couple of pictures up though. Good idea.
Enjoy
I'm still new to uploading and updating, so feel free to tell me if I've destroyed anything and you feel free to send The Dark One cute emoticons from strangers saying 'Danke.'
Then I figured, as a gift to my new friend, I'll do a little story based on the first part. Got the dialogue, got the beginning, got the part where it ends. Needed one half-naked sprite girl with a helmet and some generic guards (making them die in different ways was a bit tough) but I worked through.
Just start with something you like and go with it. Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Hansel and Gretel. You know the story, give it your own spin. Was their father cruel? Did they overhear that they were gonna be taken to an orphanage because he couldn't pay bills? How will they deal with the witch. Will it have a happy ending or do you have a dark twist?
As for other content belonging to others, most RPGMaker users freely allow their creations, scripts, etc. to be shared and used even for monetary projects provided credit and acknowledgement is given to them somewhere in the game. Most list their requirements alongside their creations. As you'll note, I go out of my way to mention that all Elfen Lied characters and content, as well as the story, is not my property.
About all I do 'own' pertaining to this project would be the security guard sprites and their various death throes (also the sniper scope animation at the end), which I will now state are free to be used in anyone's game as long as I get mentioned.
