I have a few new ideas for MC maps, such as a map that looks and feels like 'alpha'.
NetherBluebase. And a map concept inspired by the From The Fog modpack + Cave Dweller.
Im busy with trying to get a job, so maybe in a year ill be actively working on maps again.
And Homer Simpson , I might get around to it later, but its so frustrating and time consuming to get the gmod uploader to work without issue that I get sick just from thinking about it again.
please
Also if you noclip into areas with a different fog too fast, the fog will break, and you will have to re-enter the area.
As for the stone cutters, that is a good idea. I just wanted to be done with the map
168 IQ - Sorry but i had to change the lava into a solid, because the lava is using lights.rad to glow half the map (I prefer it over having dozens of lights) If its a liquid with .rad, the texture vanishes in game due to a bug.
I couldnt get propper to work (brushes to props), and spend 4 months trying but eventually gave up.
After 11 months working on the map, i just wanted to finish the map, regardless on the optimization, there is no vis done on the map (I didnt even enable vis during compiling it in hammer)
In the final update for the map, ill try to have some optimization added. Thank you
I know this map's geometry was made in minecraft and then ported straight into hammer using a tool and i get dealing with having so many brushes can be a hassle but there's many ways you can fix this to keep the brush count low, you can combine several blocks as well as textures, turn specific structures like trees or fences into models or make them all func_detail (there's acouple things in the map that i think should be func_detail such as crafting tables, stairs, walls, etc). hint and skip brushes as well as areaportals should also be used to keep framerates stable on lower end computers.
Here's a video talking in depth about optimization here:

And here's a video on how to import textures here:

However, SFM needed me to remove all the crimson vines, and some map locations, i hope its still alright.
