However, I'm not sure if combining those with this mod will get @Kentucky_Fried_Rat's desired outcome, which is adding an ammo limit to their pistols. The other firearms already have an ammo limit as stated by their corresponding scripts.
If only there was a way to add the Pistol and Magnum Pistol to the durabilities.cfg file... Maybe that way, you could make a fake ammo pool by making the pistols "break" when their ammo/durability reaches 0.
that being said; great job on the addon this is a permanant inclusion into my list and refuse to use melee weapons with out it as I felt so dirty abusing the fire axe, knife / machette ;p
However, there are some issues to this ammo change:
1) The weapon inherits some properties of the ammo type it uses. In the earlier example, by switching the Magnum to AMMO_TYPE_SHOTGUN it will gain extra damage at close range, but will no longer have the 1-shot kill when it uses the default Magnum ammo ("AMMO_TYPE_MAGNUM")
2) Neither the vanilla HUD nor modded HUDs I've found so far feature an ammo pool for secondary pistol, meaning you won't be able to tell how much ammo you have left besides the current magazine.
I used this guide to get me started on how to tune the weapons to my liking. Perhaps you'll find it useful, too: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1060964738
