@Nightmare It drains the same as a Clothing Dryer because what this mod does is when you "Attach" the AC unit, it replaces the data of the AC for a Clothing Dryer while keeping the appearance of the AC unit.
Nero 2 Mar @ 9:41pm
is it safe to use on existing save?

@Echo Why are you so pressed about temperature units? The game is based in Kentucky, and the United States is in fact a large portion of the world populace, just cause you don't agree with unit standardization decisions made over a hundred years ago in a country not yours doesn't make you somehow better.

@Nerdy Birb Celsius is the world standard, adapt to it already, ffs.

Hello Slayer,

i love this mod. Are you planning to update this, also your sensors mod?
Nerdy Birb 17 Dec, 2024 @ 1:09am
Is there anyway to chance it to F and not C
EvilMonk 4 Dec, 2024 @ 10:52am
It is a good mod, but even on highest fan speed the radius that is getting heat is just slightly bigger than a antique stove, which makes it again useless if you have a room that is bigger than that.
Nightmare 2 Dec, 2024 @ 8:43pm
@Vega

You're referring to a central air conditioning system, which is vastly different than what this mod represents: AC window units. You can google it if you're interested in how it works, but it requires a lot of skill and mechanical parts to install. These are your typical AC window units that almost any regular person can install in a window, plug up, and done. I even have two I put in my house in the south in USA. They do eat a crap ton of power irl too.

That being said, I can't find any easy setting to control power consumption within the AC files, but if you're using Immersive Solar Array and have Sandbox Options, you can adjust the efficiency of the solar panels to like 50 or more. Not realistic but makes gameplay more enjoyable and practical.
Come and See 2 Dec, 2024 @ 11:33am
This mod works well with the temperature sensor mod you can setup the ACs to kick on when the temperature drops below a certain threshold. Also, I find it ironic that its called air conditioning, but it's really a house heater.
Vega 1 Dec, 2024 @ 5:18am
@RedPandaVibes
That isn't how AC works. 1 AC unit powers a house while the air vents will transfer it to other rooms via a thermostat. Maybe 2. But not 1 for each room.

Plus this is a zombie survival sandbox game. Not an A/C technician simulator. Adjusting the fine details so it doesn't drain my battery bank in 5 minutes is a fair request.
EpicSOB 27 Nov, 2024 @ 11:22pm
can i use this to turn a room into a massive freezer?
EpicSOB 27 Nov, 2024 @ 11:21pm
@RedPandaVibes these AC units appear to be mini-splits which are way more efficient and do both cooling and heating. even back in the 90s they were very good, but they also costed an arm, a leg, and a second mortgage on your house if you wanted one. even today they are still $2000 to $8000 for home units depending on the number of rooms.
Bullhuss 23 Nov, 2024 @ 11:45am
perfect place to store blood slides
Catbear 19 Nov, 2024 @ 3:33pm
@Vega
Have you ever used a window AC unit? They use A LOT of energy and only heat single rooms at a time. It's actually very unrealistic to expect a window unit to heat anything more than a small space. Plus, this game is set in 1993, AC units back then were not energy efficient at all.
Snip13r 14 Nov, 2024 @ 11:06pm
Would it be possible to have the air conditioners mount facing south and east?
Ryan 14 Oct, 2024 @ 5:27pm
@ [FREEMAN] that's one powerful heater you got there.
[FREEMAN] 15 Sep, 2024 @ 1:30am
Caught an unpleasant bug. When you sleep with the heater on, the snow outside melts.
Vega 4 Sep, 2024 @ 6:42am
Please add a feature that allows tweaking of the fuel consumption. The issue being that in MP, 1 single AC unit heats 1 single room, not the while home. In order to actually have the whole house properly heated, an AC unit needs to be placed on the wall adjacent to the room that is to be heated. For larger safehouses, this means that upwards of 7+ AC units can be needed just to keep 1 house warm. When said safehouse is powered after electricity shutoff (via generator, steam generator, solar panels or other modded resources) this completely tanks the whole power consumption, making it entirely unbalanced. (Because homes only need 1 AC unit, not 8.) This means that a generator can go from powering a safehouse for a day to now only a few hours.
Big_Bluntz 21 Aug, 2024 @ 8:21am
@cznorton2, there is no need to update it when the last update for the game was Nov 10, 2022
cznorton2 17 Aug, 2024 @ 2:43pm
update more often pls
Slider-Man 16 Aug, 2024 @ 8:03pm
Not a big issue but on my server when the ac is turned off u can still hear it running, again not a big thing just curious if this is normal behavior
Dreamy_Abyss 2 Aug, 2024 @ 2:43pm
Just had a thought, can you not use the ac function in cars to add heating and cooling?
Fem_Bane 11 Jul, 2024 @ 10:04am
This really does need to just become a base game feature. More QOL realism that isn't inherently negative

SHDWFCHRNBL 18 Jun, 2024 @ 7:18am

SHDWFCHRNBL 18 Jun, 2024 @ 7:07am
veeery sad without cooling, i like to play with hot weather, but overall cool idea and mod. Liked for your trying, hope for 42, may by then
Engine Of Darkness 14 Jun, 2024 @ 3:45pm
I got a similarly weird issue like D E C L A S S E - for me however it snows outside while I am in a heated room and once I step into a non heated room (I don't need to step "outside" the house, an unheated room suffices), it starts raining a few seconds later (probably because I am right at the edge between rain / snow in november).
D E C L A S S E 1 Jun, 2024 @ 5:40pm
I found an interesting bug. If I were to stand half inside the house and half outside the house the watch on the top right glitches out and tells me it's -72.1°F (And dropping!!) I will provide screenshot links of what I am talking about below and now with what I discovered. Just an FYI I don't know if it's strictly this mod or of it is either a game issue or multiple issues going on.

So setting 5 A/Cs to 10°C it keeps all of my rooms (4 of my ACs are in the living room) on a constant 71.6°F. Is this normal? Max fan setting btw.

i'm here to report an extremely hilarious bug, and that is that if you use the Rename Everything mod, because you didn't link to the class ID of the actual TV Remote, and instead just said that anything called "TV Remote" allows you to access the AC settings, you can rename anything you want to TV Remote and it lets you control the AC. same thing with renaming a TV Remote away from its default name.

I want to add it on other two walls.

I'm suffering from this error, I don't know if it could be your mod or someone else in my pack. The strange thing is that it only happens to me, and it doesn't happen to my friends. When I leave the server and re-enter my character, my character gets sick as if he had been bitten and it dies, I already uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, I restarted the server and reinstalled it and the same thing happens to me, I don't know if it's a bug or what I'm doing wrong, the strangest thing is that I host the server from another PC but with myself Steam account, I shouldn't have a problem being me, am I supposed to? If you can help me, thank you, it's ruining my ability to enjoy and enjoy a great game.

here I explain more about my case

Is there a mod that eliminates the A/C that all houses have by default and that always works when there is power or is it impossible to remove them? This mod would merge perfectly with cryogenic winter.
Snail 4 Mar, 2024 @ 9:26am
I have a problem that when I dismantle the air conditioner, I only get scrap metal, is this a bug or am I just unlucky or is there a chance to disassemble the air conditioner as scrap metal or as an air conditioner?

This mod saved me to look through cabins for antique oven. I still will take it thought for an aesthetic reasons like a furniture, but I'm still having trouble to understand how to, warm up at least 3 rooms inside my small Rosewood house I'm living in.

@Slayer I've encounter this bug several times and decided to report here:

In local hosted server, the sound of A/C will persist even after they've turned off, but only to the ears of the host. And the sound wasn't overlapping or anything, if it was turned on again the sound will continue to play just like normal. It just never goes away.

The rest seems flawlessly just the sound, not sure if you got any clue about what's been happening?
Altzan260 22 Feb, 2024 @ 3:10pm
Though, how is it not able to work in multiplayer? What limitation is there that prevents it?
