Well when I play a game, and when I played hardcore TF2 competitively, I have never ever looked at the medic color scheme, nor his shirt / jacket, what I was looking for was his coat, coz medics coat is a distinguishing characteristic feature that no other character has, especially part from belt downside. So tbh for me it was never eye-catching the part around jacket :gs_happy: but I might be wrong

good execution a but limits do exist as mentioned countless times bellow

Ah yes, lets completely ruin the color scheme for the one class who by design needs to be identified quickly and easily. Surely changing the intentionally eye-catching white to a brown color shared by a dozen other body cosmetics for several classes (some of whom have similar stances) won't have any negative gameplay implications whatsoever.

Could we experiment with a version that uses faded gray/white leather? Curious how that’s look.

Yeah, I also think it would be difficult to mistake with Engineer since Medic's lower coat would still be pretty visible, but I was just trying to imagine situations where this could be applied to. One thing is promos, other thing is during gameplay in the midst of the battle.

No hate on the item, of course, I like it very much and I also don't think the colors will be that problematic, though I can understand why some people may feel this way.

I still think TF2 should have a toggleable option to have teammate and enemy outlines (like many modern games do), preferably on by default, so discussions like this probably wouldn't happen very often, and we wouldn't have problems with paint regions either.

You will never mistake medic for engie because of both their silhouettes and animations, Engineer has quite the slouch and is short, medic is mostly upright and tall. that's baked into the very core of TF2.

Promotional images will mostly use ref poses/taunts/etc to showcase items because its a lot easier to see the item as a whole, so the influence of animations can be lost to the viewer.

So yeah it's kinda funny at a glance it looks like engineer, it realistically that mix up will never happen ingame.

Looks beautiful. In regards to the color scheme, we already have the Medical Monarch (Style 1) and Wooly Pulli's (Formal style), so I don't see much issue here. We also have a couple other items that cover his default color scheme somewhat, but not as noticeable as these two mentioned, and this one.

But, I can see some people thinking this may be an Engineer with the Dogfighter equipped, especially because Medic also has Operator's Overalls-ish pants, although he does have the lower coat kept.

However, I think a secondary style that replaces the Drab-ish lapels with the brown / dark blue colors, while keeping the coat in Waterlogged, could work. I do believe that the Medical Monarch's second style was made because maybe the 1st one wouldn't be picked up due to its colors, but, nowadays, most items get all styles added anyway.

Regardless, I still like this item, but I can see people's problems with the colors. But this mostly on TF2 and its lack of teammate / enemy outlines.

The model looks good, but it breaks Medic's color scheme. Best not to overlook how that would affect gameplay.

arghhhhh, it looks soooo good, from the leather, to the logo, to the shirt beneath you can tell this was made for the love of the game and not pumped out to make a quick buck (cough cough, prop hunt, cough cough). but yeah, it does really draw from medic's color scheme. after another look-over, i'd like to say this works really well with other cosmetics too. i wouldn't be mad if this was added, and at the very least you can still tell what team he is on.

Conflicts too much with the colourscheme of the medic by drawing away all the white

Fucks too much with Medic's color scheme, but other than that it's good.
Geebanger0 10 Nov, 2023 @ 3:34pm
It's really good. It does remove a lot of the white from his body though. If you could find some way to work around that, it'd be perfect

god please give me it
