@sheluvxaiver Sorry to be annoying, but, I love this mod, and I was wondering if it was getting bumped up to B42 when b42 stable is released?

Got the same bug, good to know i'm not the only one.
S3K 22 Sep, 2024 @ 7:52am

SharleBu 13 Sep, 2024 @ 7:10pm
Nobody else get the bug I get? :(

Does the mod work without Broadcast Voicer mod? I dont like too much adding voices to radio and tv broadcasts, but i really like the idea of an immersive emergency alert for late-game :C
SharleBu 27 Apr, 2024 @ 11:44am
In fact idk if this bug was there since 1st version or after an update, I just didn't tested it and noticed when started a new game : (

that... is weird 🤔 ty for the report, I didn't change anything when adding Broadcast Voicer so definitely on me though I cannot say why. I'll try out some fixes and see if I can get this fixed asap
SharleBu 7 Apr, 2024 @ 8:42pm
I wanted to add that after doing some tests I came to the conclusion that it is not a problem or conflict with other mods and neither with its "Broadcast Voicer" requirement. It's very strange but when you activate this mod it's like the TV's exp gain simply ceases to exist.

And and as I said (by mistake hehe) to @Fed-cap (creator of Broadcast Voicer),

I really love the idea of the mod, that's why I was interested in translating it and now, to fix this bug that definitely affects the gaming experience and forces me to disable it :(

Hello, I would like to report a major bug: I noticed that when starting new games, my character did not gain experience for watching Life & Living TV shows. After starting many new games by turning different mods on and off, I came to the conclusion that this mod (or perhaps its new requirement, "Broadcast Voicer") is the one causing TV experience gain issues. According to me it is not a mod incompatibility.

I hope this report is useful. Unfortunately I will have to disable this ingenious mod until further notice :(

Greetings!

Hey y'all! Appreciate all of your enthusiasm, help & suggestions about this mod <3

This has just updated with the biggie; the beep boops. I made a very short alarm sound that now plays before the messages start.

I'm also thinking about open-sourcing this so anyone can contribute to this, tbc on that. Hope you enjoy :steamhappy:

"Evolution of Emergency Broadcast System tests (1980-1996)" on youtube will get you some idea of what to expect.

You're absolutely allowed to use it as long as it's not a commercial project, If you don't make money on it then it's legal to use, just like the legal protected red cross that appears on just about every container mod on this platform. You'ed be hard pressed to have the us gov try and get you on a non-taxable matter.

Appreciate the heads up! At worst I would've just rotated a sound file or something so no extra pressure, dw about it :)

I was 100% going to use a different alert tone anyway since I don't think the SAME header was widely used outside of the NWR network until '97 when the EAS was introduced, which post-dates the Knox Event anyway. So I'm 100% open to any and all suggestions of tones that would be equally as unsettling as that lol
red-unicorn 7 Mar, 2024 @ 3:18pm
Just be sure not to use the legally protected alert tones ! But it shouldn't be too much trouble to create a different tone with a similar feel. Try playing two other dissonant notes at the same time, or quickly going back and forth between them. It ought to be doable with just a sine wave generator and a little splicing.

I have a couple ideas I'd love to play around with, actually... No promises that I'll come up with anything worthwhile, and if I do, no pressure to use it! But I kinda feel like I just dumped extra work on your shoulders (even if I'm just the messenger, really) so it seems only right to also pitch in a bit, if I can!

I promise the beep boops are coming 🙏 definitely want to gather a list of expansions to add support for as well, just need to learn deeper into the modding api
Lady Sorcia 23 Feb, 2024 @ 1:18pm
I want loud beeping/grinding noise pls :lizzyhappy:

Ahhhh I love this mod, touch of realism! You should make patches for the darkness is coming, here they come, expanded helicopter events, and or save our station! I LOVEEEE where this is going and having it alert to some actual happenings of some disaster related mods would be cool. If I was any good at modding I would offer my full support to help make that happen but keep up the great work!

hey, SS Edmund Fitzgerald! not yet, but that's actually a great idea. lemme add that to the list
SS Edmund Fitzgerald 31 Dec, 2023 @ 8:02am
Will the alert broadcast make your character panicked?
SharleBu 15 Dec, 2023 @ 8:59pm
Hi, I joined your Discord to help with spanish translation, love the idea of the mod! Greetings
alex  [author] 15 Nov, 2023 @ 10:49am
all good, thanks for the update!
definitely still a great callout nonetheless, I suspect there are some states where this can cause confliction with other mods that modify the same assets with some of the same behavior you're seeing
Captain Tofu 15 Nov, 2023 @ 10:15am
Nevermind, it happened again without the mod. I am clueless. But in case, this has relevance for your mod too, here is a screenshot: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3084347490
sorry for the false positive, you are fast with your comments ^^;
alex  [author] 15 Nov, 2023 @ 9:41am
oooo thanks for calling that out, Captain Tofu!
think I know what the issue is, I'll upload a fix later tonight and see if that addresses it :)
Captain Tofu 15 Nov, 2023 @ 9:16am
This mod causes a console error every now and then, periodically. "EMRG-711984" required. AEBS for dynamic radio. I deactivated the mod for now. Expanded Helicopter Events was mentioned as well
alex  [author] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:40am
@NuclearPotato great note, tysm! definitely want to adhere to the ‘93 period, will do some research
NuclearPotato 10 Nov, 2023 @ 11:45pm
This is a pretty cool mod, but I will note that, for your future plans, the emergency alert tones that have become very well known today were not introduced until the Emergency Alert System proper became operational in 1997. Before that, specific stations typically just had their own attention tones, which were often just as jarring.
