It only works preemptively.

I'm aware. If I could find a way so that it can shut off after it is turned on, I would.

I can't though due to the way toggling triggers works, which is why I phrased it as "Prevent from firing" rather than "turn off" or "disable".

The weapon still incapacitates the team after it's been disabled.
