Hi there. I know that you can change names locally with some file editing, but now I'm curious if it's possible within VScript to rename bots.. I'll try and look into that.

Hmmm, mostly to change Bot Names, you do need to edit the English file, but I do wonder if it's possible in the realms of VScript... We'll have to see. What guide or tutorial did you use to try and change the bot names?
I made a mod that changes the bot names but since it's a simple edit of the l4d_english file, it doesn't apply to this.
Technically? It'll probably increase the output of text from the bots.
But I am a sensitive dude, their really mean, and it hurts me.

Also don't listen to PHOBIE, this game lists of how many infected/specials you killed as well as tank damage and my friends and I have lightly roasted each other on common or special infected kills "My back hurts from all this hard carrying" and "Are you even aiming, we got all the kills!" (all in good fun)

I guess if you could capture hints from the campaign text and subtitles and generate contextual or procedural answers (or GPT answers) if would feel more natural. It could use progressive conversations with plot-hooks being advanced.
If I had them chat perfectly, no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, it doesn't make them look real as players would chat in games. Some type normally, perfect grammar with punctuation, while some do not care, they just want to get their message across.
You'd be surprised on the number of games I played that people would complain about you stealing kills (even though it's a cooperative game), both campaign and in versus.
What I did for this VScript add-on is to capture what players would type in text chat. Not all players type in the correct way. If I made it like that for the bots, then it's unnatural. The various text chat that the bots say, came from real games and suggestions.
