it was No vanilla vehicle's fault
Forgot I used that one to have Filibuster cars only
It was working fine together before though. Not sure what caused the conflict exactly
Only Filibuster used car, standardized vehicle upgrade and this one
Will test again to see which mod caused the problem

I wasn't having any luck getting the values to change in-game. I had even started messing around with the vehicles database file in my save folder - with no luck. Based on your description the Standardised Vehicle Upgrades had its own script file that was loading afterwards. This mod saved a very novice modder a lot of headache, so many thanks. Have some Steam monopoly money
One issue, though: the 86bounder script doesn't have the second skin, so my vehicle's skin defaulted back to the orange colour.
