@Adeptus Freemanicus Thanks, but I already solved it on my end. After a bit of experimenting, I tried changing the supported version number in the mod's descriptor file to see if that would do anything and, to my surprise, that actually worked; the game didn't crash after startup and the mod worked perfectly in-game. For some reason, it even continued to work after I reverted the changes, which was kinda annoying considering all the time I spent trying to fix it, but whatever, I'm just glad it works now. Sorry for wasting your time with this, I'll leave a little reward on your profile to thank you :)

@Adeptus Freemanicus I use the downpatched version of UI Overhaul Dynamic for version 3.14.15926 and this mod was working fine until you updated it. I assumed this mod was crashing my game because it was only compatible with the latest version of UIOD, but if the only change you made was the version number then idk.

*Changing the version is just a number, doesn't mean that it stops working for other versions.

Yeah that fixed it, i genuinely have no idea what broke it, considering i looked through the files of both the older i had and the new and somehow replacing the new with the old.. expect the localisation and descriptors and stuff. but yeah i have no idea what caused it to be broken

Yeah i did some testing with taking off mods. looking at steams update sorting. turning off mods that were recently updated and somehow the merged irony archived i did around the 4th this month worked. im not too sure why but the slots mods dont apply. properly. atleast the 80 slots doesn't. Thing is im not too sure wtf is broken despite attempting to port backwards older versions so i have no idea if im missing something or some wonky shinanagins is going on

@KoriksFlameKell is right i have also noticed the entirety of the tradition slots vanished now being 24 and not changing despite using the 80 slots one. load order is fine and it was working fine when i last played. which previously was the 4th of this month, which it was working fine. maybe something weird going on with UI dynamic or whatever change you added recently to the slots mods?

Youll have to tweak the height numbers a bit depending on how many traditions you have. I have the 48 slots so use that as your baseline reference.

--TRADITIONS SIDE--

and

CHANGE: size = { width = 1250 height = @tradition_height }
TO: size = { width = 1250 height = 3200 }

--PERKS SIDE--

Just a heads up for those that have a 4k monitor and a UI Scaling higher than default 1.0, the CRISIS TAB is hidden by the infinite scroll. Cause is the "traditions_view".


--CRISIS TAB FIX--

OK. Now I understand. There is a check, vanilla, that counts if you have more than 6 Traditions picked. If so, it will block Synthetic Age/Organo-Machine.

@Generalisator, Sadly it's not just tradition mods that conflict, any mod that modifies some files also conflict.

I am working a new mod that should have zero conflicts as it'll use a menu on start a new save, but it's taking a while.

A fix that works 99% of the time is to have the mod in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod

@Adeptus Freemanicus Tested, After I piked the 6. The 7th slot can not pick Ascencion "Synthetic Age". Have deactivated all other mods who use Traditions and such.

the Grand Archive dlc has broken this mod for me as even though i have open Tradition slots i can't pick any ascension perk's because it's saying *Requires an empty tradition tree slot when i hover my mouse over the ascension perk

Yeah I just checked your code with the game's. While the ascension paths now check for the following:
custom_tooltip = {
fail_text = "requires_free_tradition_tree"
num_tradition_categories < @max_tradition_trees
}

You specifically change @max_tradition_trees so yeah, I genuinely don't know what might be causing it for the others.

@Construction Doge, I read through the all the base game traditions, not a single one even checks for tradition slots, it's all handled else where.

I'm getting the feeling that at least 80% of the issues reported have been load order/conflict issues, mod works fine every time I test it.

From what I understand, this is due to a recent code change with the ascension perks that come with traditions, since all of those perk's bonuses come specifically from the tradition itself. They only check for the standard slot count from what I am seeing (so it breaks once you have more than 6 tradition slots filled), but I have no idea how you would change what it's checking in that regard.

I'm in the mid-game and I can't seem to unlock Mind Over Matter as it requires a tree slot though I still have some. Other mod problem maybe?

@Adeptus Freemanicus , change the value "@tradition_height = " , then it is fine. For derange version it is 9310. So now you have no excuse from creating way more insane versions
