Thank you so much!

with the 1.6 update I messed up the curren 1.5 version of the mod. It should be fixed now
Chicken Kickin Fun 1 Jul @ 11:37am
same as askan and shroom, even level 20 can't harvest honey
TurtleShroom 26 Jun @ 1:05pm
I can report that I am experiencing the exact same error as Askan Helstroem.
Askan Helstroem 18 Jun @ 5:23am
oh and I can't harvest the honey either, it seems.
The pawn who tried it had 8 points in the animal skill, tried it 7 times, before started to haul different stuff.
Askan Helstroem 18 Jun @ 5:19am
hej...eh...how do I make the mead?
I have the barrels, I have the brewery...
But there is no option to make mead
Sencho 27 Apr @ 4:49am
just bee urself :)
Aderod 24 Aug, 2024 @ 1:23am
Anybody test it with plants/trees added by other mods? I also curious if plants like rice or potatoes also counts, potato honey would be interesting product...
TurtleShroom 10 Aug, 2024 @ 6:17pm
This Mod IS NOT incompatible with the Mods that it says conflict with itself. I know this because I have run MANY bee Mods at the same time without issue.
Zipzopdippidybopbop 3 Aug, 2024 @ 11:40am
Thanks for confirming - was a frustrating day or two figuring that out! =P
Adamas  [author] 3 Aug, 2024 @ 11:02am
Yes indeed, it needs animals skill 5 or higher.. probably it should mention that somewhere.
Zipzopdippidybopbop 2 Aug, 2024 @ 2:41pm
I think I've found the problem - does the colonist need to have a certain animal skill level before they can extract honey?
Zipzopdippidybopbop 31 Jul, 2024 @ 2:36am
Thanks for the reply.

Aye I reckon it's a conflict. Will continue to test and if I identify it I'll let you know!
Adamas  [author] 30 Jul, 2024 @ 1:34pm
Can you see any red errors appearing? Earlier this month I tested the mod (just vanilla Rimworld and this mod) and everything seemed to work fine, it might be a conflict with some other mod.
Zipzopdippidybopbop 30 Jul, 2024 @ 1:02pm
It seems that I am unable to harvest honey, even when there is honey in the hive. After I click "force harvest" no option for a pawn to harvest occurs, nor do they do it automatically.

Tried autosetting the Hive to full honey to test; same problem. Any ideas what's causing the issue?
Sigourney Weaver in Alien4 28 May, 2024 @ 4:38am
does the mead barrel work automatically (auto load?) because I am used to barrels where I have to use an "insert must" option to get it started...
Todokoro 28 May, 2024 @ 4:15am
so just an fyi, but it takes longer than a week in real life to make mead. With real practices it takes up to a month at minimum.
Gasdobun 27 May, 2024 @ 11:17am
I came from the same Chinese translation. Nice looking mod, and, as an amateur beekeeper, I'm definitely gonna try it!
Todokoro 25 May, 2024 @ 11:40am
@Adamas I was perusing the releases and came across a Chinese localization that pointed toward this mod. I make my own mead irl so this naturally peaked my interests.
Adamas  [author] 25 May, 2024 @ 2:33am
Just out of curiosity, was this mod mentioned somewhere, since there is a sudden spike in downloads and comments? :)
Todokoro 25 May, 2024 @ 12:05am
discovering this made my day. mead and honey are amazing irl.
TurtleShroom 24 May, 2024 @ 8:41pm
@Pejman

If I am known on "Rimworld" as the "honey man" instead of the "guy that Oskar, the Biomes Team, and Toast hates who got banned form the official RW chat room", I've won.

Mod about honey

Of course turtleshroom is lurking here xD
tolaburke 18 Apr, 2024 @ 12:58am
I'm going to leave this message to both sides.

I use 'Bees' https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3090186019&searchtext=bee and 'Apini Race' https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3219632807&searchtext= . The plants of Apini Race don't count as plants for the honey making of 'Bees'.
TurtleShroom 4 Jan, 2024 @ 11:07am
I was taught to add prefixes to everything precisely to prevent this problem. Using the exact same Thing Defs and Textures without prefixes is considered a crime against the community precisely because it causes issues like this.

Mind you, I don't think Oskar is a bad man or a bad Mod maker. Not in the slightest.
Adamas  [author] 4 Jan, 2024 @ 10:08am
Thanks Oskar.
Oskar Potocki 4 Jan, 2024 @ 6:19am
Great mod @Adamas! Interesting approach to how honey is made, I quite like the depth you have in your mod.
Oskar Potocki 4 Jan, 2024 @ 6:18am
'Oskar hates compatibility' - I'm sorry that I called my mead mead and my honey honey. I should have called them Turtle and Shroom I guess.
TurtleShroom 3 Jan, 2024 @ 11:01am
Thank you
Adamas  [author] 3 Jan, 2024 @ 10:55am
@TurtleShroom thanks for the reports. I fixed both issues :)
TurtleShroom 2 Jan, 2024 @ 9:43am
It worked. When my plants got big enough, the Beehive started producing honey. I still can't place it inside without removing the roof and then placing it back, though.

Also, please change the file path to your Honey and Mead Sprites. Both of them overwrite several Vanilla Expanded instances, because Oskar hates compatibility and undercuts people regularly with crap like that.
Adamas  [author] 1 Jan, 2024 @ 9:30pm
@TurtleShroom "If there are enough mature plants (growth>50%)"
I did test it indoors, so I am not sure what disallows it in your game. Maybe the mod is on an older version
TurtleShroom 1 Jan, 2024 @ 6:51pm
How do I attract bees? I placed my Beehive down and planted crops all around it in Hydroponic Farms. Do I need to wait for the plants to grow, or does it only accept flowers? The Vanilla Factions Expanded Viking Mod's worthless Beehive only works on its specific flowers, making it worse than useless. Does this apply here, too?
TurtleShroom 1 Jan, 2024 @ 6:31pm
I tried placing my Beehive indoors, but it said that such an action is not permissible. My base is on a VERY cold Map, and it does not get warm enough to put a Beehive outdoors. I tried placing it indoors, and it wouldn't let me. If I removed the roof, though, I could do it.

TurtleShroom 1 Dec, 2023 @ 3:54am
I'll let you know when the update for your Mod is incorporated.
Adamas  [author] 30 Nov, 2023 @ 10:30pm
@TurtleShroom that would be great, thanks!
TurtleShroom 30 Nov, 2023 @ 3:32pm
Welcome to the honey team! Doctor Bees salutes you!

I made a honey integration Mod and would be honored to include your work in future updates!

I added a screenshot from one of my dev sessions (that I also posted in my discord dev blog) in the preview image at the top.
It shows the beehive and its infopanel. The beehive is the typical langstroth design. It has two boxes, on my wishlist is the idea to have the image change as the hive grows from one box to three boxes. You can not rotate the hive btw, but there is no point in rotating it anyway, it has no fixed interaction spot.
The mead fermenting barrel is currently just the same graphic as the vanilla beer barrel. Once I have that one fixed, I also remove the early access tag and make the preview image and mod description nicer.
Kokorocodon 27 Nov, 2023 @ 11:02pm
Some pics?
beetlecat 25 Nov, 2023 @ 5:12pm
interesting re-take of the idea! -- Resource Dictionary mod could possibly help with some of the material crossover? Or maybe have your own unique "honey" item so that other bee-related systems can just ignore each other?
Adamas  [author] 20 Nov, 2023 @ 10:53pm
It makes perfect sense to keep bees in greenhouses. I expect it to work for temperature already. I will for sure add support for it. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm blind as ♥♥♥♥ 20 Nov, 2023 @ 7:39pm
I know it mentions the weather, but will it work in green houses? Asking as an ice sheet player and knowing nothing about bee keeping
