This is a sweet mod, but like any weapon changer also a two-edged sword...hostile archers can become a reeeal headache with this. Not as much as with some other bow-changer mods, but iffen an enemy archer has the right arrows & bow, they can & will 1-shott-kill you. Still worth it though.

as an enjoyer of archery in conan im loving this mod but i feel like sometimes the bows are too strong.

im trying a different build for once and noticed that a tier 1 npc 1 shotted me (not even headshot) while i was wearing full heavy armor (set from valis) and 400+ hp.

my friend who is using a bow is also dealing a LOT more damage than i can deal with a legendary weapon with just her starting bow with flinthead arrows.

im not sure if this is a bug or whether its intentional

Love the mod, However I'm experiencing very little damage against NPC's such as in Sepemaru. But animal damage is very good..

I should say I made no intentional changes to. Odds are something in the graph got moved around and then accidentally saved because the dev kit is kinda wonky about things like that.

If anyone is experiencing issues with this mod because of the update, I apologize. There's a stray file that I made no changes to yet somehow ended up in the build, and it is a file that Funcom made changes to. I am uploading a fix pronto.

So the changes due out for the post Chapter 4 release are:
- Fixing the minor issues with Snake Arrows and Razor Arrows.
- Adding Frostbite status effect to the Ice Shard arrows (pretty sure they don't do that--the wiki says they don't do that--but they should)

Those are definitely things I overlooked. I suppose I count the Set arrows as Special arrows, their weight should probably still be reduced. That'll come in an update soon.

arrow recovery time duration limit increased to 30 minutes. is it possible ? I did notice we an pick up arrows if it is near by but sometimes many arrows disappear withi few seconds if not picked up and also we can see and memorize all spots the arrows were at so can we add a marker to these arrows? (and only for player arrows this suggestion and not for npc arrows to avoid exploits). arrow amrker could be something like name tags or titles like how players have on top of their head but is only visible when we are in a given radius or something? I know its a bit farfetched but just asking and suggesting at same time.. thanks for mod btw I like the balanced hits on the arrows now.. I mainly make use of bone arrows a lot for ease of crafting it so and also most of enemies drop bone arrows itself as drop too.. anyways pls lemme know thanks

This is a wonderful mod. It's made archery viable as a primary and I've been really enjoying that. I actually feel cool and powerful, without being overpowered. I can use a bow to open combat or pick off a nuisance target without feeling overwhelming or weak. Thank you for taking on this project! :champ:

@Jutty: Hm. It would be outside the scope of intent for this mod since I was focused on recreating the original, but I suppose tweaking another arrow would fall within the scope of the intent of the original so I'll consider it.

I'm willing to look into it if the poison of the arrows is so weak its negligible (as what seems to be the case for more special arrow options in the base game). I don't know much about snake arrows since I never played with the Set religion or anyone who had it. I was under the impression that some people happily used them as they were so I didn't think they were as poorly balanced as other options. Is the poison weaker than standard poison?

--Actually, the damage increase was applied to arrows and I can't 100% say he *didn't* do what I did but the mod's description implies it was damage applies to the weapon itself. I went about it differently (partially for compatibility, partially out of laziness) but messed up. u_u

I know some people didn't want the reduction to the power shot bonus, but it's in line with what the original mod did. Zevlik did it by increasing bow heavy attack damage, but I wanted it to apply to *any* bow (even mod-added and cash shop bows), so I increased the damage from the power shot curve. But I did it twice as high as it should have been.

Now I've tested it (properly this time), and if you were to attack just about any human enemy in the game with the level of gear appropriate to fight that enemy, you will still (more often than not) 1-shot them with a headshot. So it is still what some might find to be OP. Slightly better gear and you'll probably kill them outright with any shot.

To those asking about load order: I don't use AOC and and I only know the surface of what should be in Endgame Arsenal. I do use the latter, though, and I put my mod above it and its changes are still in effect.

@Mcotta4100 - Mod is installed on 3 private servers. The servers are equipped with fast hardware, full-stack fiber optic cable, automatic data backup, server maintenance and server transfer. Due to server transfer, the same number of mods are installed on each server. There are some mods. A few still serve the same purpose, but will be removed when we have completely switched to (ToT's mods). You can join on Exiles (hardcore) or Savage Wilds (learn and live), but you have to earn your way to Siptah (lore friendly housing) or solve a quest. Communication via DC desired. There are rules when it comes to building. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Communication in German or English. Servers have been running for 3 weeks and need to be filled. If you are interested, search for: BCE01, BCE02 or BCE03. There are some events. Thrall Chess, Relaxation Zones, Horse Racing, Jousting, PVP and PVE Arena.

Wanted to say I like this mod. I can run a bow and not feel like the crappiest dps around. Baby shalebacks used to out dps my bow. =P

I agree. Archery is meant to be lethal, not a minor annoyance to those being shot at. I hope the damage stays around where it currentlyis.

Well i fought a whole lot of 3 skulls today with a bow. And it doesn't do all that much damage compared to someone with a two handed sword. Why does everyone assume that bows should be weak? They were designed to drop you in your tracks, Not to scratch you. I like the idea of making it adjustable. But not with adjustment limits that are too weak.

@necro really glad to hear that you are considering to rework the damage. It's been incredibly hard to find an actively developed archery mod that doesn't overtune things. We tried your mod and felt it was too powerful, tried tg archery but it's still about 25 to 50% too high.. ended up with lite arrow for QoL and no increase in damage.. The majority of our archers said it underperformed. We're really excited to see what you're working on, we just started a new PVE server for chapter 3.

Would it be feasible that an archery mod could utilize sliders or allow us to scale the damage rather than be prebaked? I only ask because, if possible I think it could be made to work for any server.

As for the PVP issue, I'm aware that it is unbalanced for PVP. So was the original mod and this one is intended to copy that one's features. The other mod I'm working on will rework the damage increase to require more skill and balance it for PVP, but as the original mod never took that into account, this one will not either.

But in my attempt to make the damage increase apply to all bows (even mod-added and cash shop bows), I altered the power attack scaling. But I miscalculated it and it appears to doing twice as much increased damage as I intended it to.

It appears that the way charged power attacks are calculated means that my intended 50% damage increase is closer to a 100% damage increase.

I am planning on reducing the damage a bit. It seemed fine in test, but after playing through more of the actual game it does feel like I miscalculated the effect of the damage increase. The goal was to make them stronger across the board, but not *that* strong.

I own bows and trust me they can kill in one shot, bow hunters are known to drop deer with a single shot from a 40 Ib draw weight bow easily with pass through the target into a tree behind it.
They just aren't real powerful at long ranges even high poundage bows. Well made steel armor will stop one dead in its tracks though. Tod's Workshop on youtube has great videos demonstrating this.

"one shot kill" Doesn't necessarily break the game, Well aimed one shot to the Head or Heart. will definitely kill any person. Conan's woman died by 1 arrow hitting her...
