Promos, model, textures: that's three different tasks. Whether you like the cosmetic or not, splitting a job up into simpler one-man tasks gets the whole thing done faster.

If you don't like a workshop item, you can criticize without acting like a cunt. If you can't do that, simply downvote and move on. If workshop authors are deleting your comments or blocking you, it's probably a sign that they're done dealing with you being an obnoxious twat. Throwing a tantrum over cosmetics is not going to stop people from creating what they want.

And there is no ostracizing here aside from toward the item itself. People have the right to give harsh criticism as long as if the creators decide to not delete or block it, and if anything I have a small bit of respect for the creators due to not deleting the comments of or blocking certain people here. You can view this as somehow hurting the community but the creators obviously don't care much for the mean comments, and I've seen two of the creators whose opinions seem to reflect that with one outright saying that they do not care what tf2 players think about their items because they are really just having fun creating these and are happy to see that a large amount of people actually like the items, which I also respect.

When workshoppers create items that people feel are quite harshly offensive to the game's tone while incorporating unoriginal and garish designs that further add insult to the game's style, and when the creator is fully aware that the item can be put into the game due to valve's carelessness, it's pretty obvious that the source of contempt is coming from the creator's actions to begin with. You might think that there is no contempt on other wacky items because they aren't overloaded to the brim with hateful comments, but that's because most of the people within this comment section are blocked because creators would rather pretend that there isn't any contempt rather than to face it.
