Looks more like a smoke than a holy aura or something. Try incorporating some sunbeams esque thingies in there. Also too opaque, it ends up obscuring the skin.
I really like the idea here, though.

The transparency is an issue. Can you higher the transparency so the actaul skin is also somewhat visible?

I based the amount of gun it covers on the cool and hot effects, so probably it's the transparency.

I’m glad valve stopped added these, so we don’t have the possibility of having this sand added to gun.

Thanks for the feedback on visibility, I tried to limit how much of the weapon it would cover but I probably went a bit overboard on some of em. I'll see what I can do about reducing the coverage or increasing transparency!

Make it like 25% more transparent, it's too opaque and covers up too much of the skin.
