I don't currently have AOW4 installed and don't really have time for it either, but I'm assuming my tome is so basic mechanics-wise that it should still work. I'm not 100% sure of course, so if it actually needs an update, please tell me and I'll get to it when I can.

There unfortunately is no wiggle room as per your suggestion as the editor - afaik - only works in absolutels. I'll look into it eventually and see if I can work around it or something, thanks for the report regardless^^

If there's a way to allow wiggle room where less than 3-5 tiles are non-mountain to still qualify, I think it would work. It might have the side effect of allowing you to remove those rare valley passes where a single road runs between the mountain ranges, but I think that's an easy price to pay.

With excessive testing, I have finally figured out what the exact trigger was causing the issue. If a mountain province has a single tile of non-mountain land in it, it doesn't count. So you get a lot of situations where the whole mountain line is blocked because of a single forest tile. It happens most commonly with the larger provinces, which is why I was confused before.

@Spuddnik; Could very well be a quirk of the game. It's pretty limited on the technical side or in regards on what exactly you want to declare terraformable, and more often than not just not clear when it comes to editor functions ^^

@Vaelrisian; Mountains can be traversed, astral void cannot :D It's rather situational, I guess, but otherwise it'd be just too powerful^^ Thanks for your words anyway and good suggestion, I'll keep that in mind :D

A good tome for a thematic Void Mage run, though I'm not sure what the benefits of turning mountains into astral void are. But I suppose that's less balance breaking than a spell that lets you delete any province (AI having the power to just delete your cities would be rage-inducing and unfun, so I can see why you limit it to mountains).

But maybe you could make a Tier V tome continuing this theme that adds an alternate magic victory where you have to build a number of Void Gate (just an example name) province improvements, then research and cast the spell, then defend the gates for 15 turns to win by erasing the realm from existence/casting the realm into the void. This keeps it fair by giving others a chance to stop it.

They have the exact same tags as the normal mountain provinces (I just checked), and the only real difference is that the size of the province is larger. I wonder if it's just some quirk of the game. I most commonly see those province types when I set the map to have only land, so it might just be converting sea provinces into variant mountain provinces.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words ^^ Regarding those mountains; I'm not aware of that. Do they have any tags that could mess with it? Iirc I've set Matter Undone to pretty much only target more or less "pure" mountains. Which tags does it have?

If I can fix it, it'll be when the next big update drops (Probably Primeval Fury) since I don't have AOW4 installed currently ^^

I adore this mod, and especially the Matter Undone spell. I've noticed, however, that there are some mountain provinces that it cannot affect. I believe these are the larger "Highland" mountain provinces. Is this intended or is this a bug?

I understand about the once per battle thing, Dark Eminence is a pretty powerful ability. My experience so far has been that practical opportunity to use this ability more than once per battle is almost zero anyways, the 2-turn cooldown does a good job of restricting use and the Weaver ability can't be used if you're in an enemy ZOC. Also, DE is a full action, so that further limits the ability to use Weaver.

All that said, it would be pretty goddam awesome to kill an enemy with DE while having Killing Momentum equipped, getting one action back to cast Weaver, then unleash a second wombo hit the following turn to win the battle... and all because Weaver resets DE :).

Dunno why it doesn't reset, I see nothing obvious in the data that relates to it. To that end, personally, I'm not sure if I want such a strong ability to be repeatable to begin with(Hence why it's once per combat) ô.o

Thanks for putting in time to look this thread, been having more fun with your tome.

Following Crimson's line of thought, I tested Dark Eminence with the Weaver ability, and it doesn't reset... feels like it should if the Avatar is going to be available in the Battle Magic skill set.

Well, fixed I hope. I had to change some things in order to balance - I do hope I swung the nerf hammer and not accidentally make it super crazy busted - it because with it now triggering Killing Momentum, unfortunately it also inevitably scales since it now counts as magic. Can't have Killing Momentum without scaling and vice versa, so it was a lose-lose situation here ^^

For the time being I'll not add scaling to it until more reports and opinions about it come in. Now it also doesn't proc Killing Momentum? Uh... I'll investigate. Dunno why it wouldn't proc it but thanks for reporting that^^

i'm not sure, on the one hand i feel like it would make sense for it to scale with those effects in the sense that it looks and feels like magic but from a balance perspective it might become a bit too strong especially since it's bundled in with a passive and it's already a strong move, btw one more thing it doesn't proc "killing momentum" and that i do feel like it should

Fixed the description for Matter Undone, it as an oversight. Regarding units vanishing... I mean that's kinda expected. As far as I know there's no fix to this which is why one should be careful with using it. I don't know if those vanished stacks still exist and are just out of map so to speak either.

Unrelated to your comment, in general, if you want to use it as an exploit against enemies is up to you, nothing I can do about it ^^

I'd prefer to have a more elegant solution to this than just saying to be careful, but I have not so it is what it is I guess x)

Very cool tome, really like the concept, have been using it a lot.

After casting Matter Undone, I noticed that any unit/stack that's deeper in the province (not just on the edge) just disappears... doesn't get stuck, just vanishes.

Tooltip description for Matter Undone isn't showing up.

No issues with the city structure, it's pretty cool over all and actually seems balanced.

Avatar of the Black Sun is pretty cool if I've given my ruler a 'yolo' build, but can't really use it with stuff like stand together. The AI will try to bunch up and then get hit by that 1-hex proximity damage.

Haven't had a chance to fight against an opponent using your tome yet, will let you know as soon as I can work that out.

Overall really good stuff.

Ah yeah, that could do it. I'll try and run the icon images through the Canva app and see what can be done with it unless you know of a free, very userfriendly and uncomplicated program I could use ^^ Regarding affinities, I'm not sure if I really want to change the affinities post-release as I don't know if that causes issues with ongoing games. I'll think about that though^^

I think it would be easy to just run the pictures into color filters to get get the overall colorscheme right.

I am also thinking if shadow/astral wouldn't be a good as the affinities as well given the nature of it. Just a thought!

Thanks for your feedback ^^ Regarding the icons; It's on my To-Do-List (Mod discussion topic), but I can't promise anything as I'm neither a visual artist, nor do I have the tools or skills for that :D So I kinda just make do with what the AI spills out :P

Looks promising! I would advice to make all icons follow a coherent colorscheme to make it easier to read which spells are from this tome. The idea of a tome focused on unmaking is incredibly cool.

Thank you, I'm glad that you like it so far! :) Next on my list is first adding a hero skill to this tome (Avatar of the Black Sun - 1 active gaze-based cone ability and a passive that regenerates a small amount of combat points in battle). Once I'm done with that and the description I'll probably start working on a series of Ice-themed tomes (T2 and T4) ^^

Finally. Fixed. That was one hard nut to crack. Apparently you can't give flat negative happiness income. That's what caused the crashes.
