Awesome. Let me know what you find out with it. If you need help with its setup, let me know as well.

alright, I'll load it up on the boi and see what happens

Advancements in the suspension build have also shown that the more weight you want to support, the more surface area you need to spread the weight across, otherwise the "spring" wheels are more likely to push through the blocks they push against. Along those lines, the block used for the "spring" to push against is also important and needs to be as thick a block as possible to prevent the push through problem. Using the torsion spring script reduces the surface area needed by reducing the amount of weight the "springs" have to support.

ok...I'll try to find a torsion spring script then

I've seen what you're talking about and found that tends to be more of an issue with speed than anything else. The longer you stay at really high speeds, the more it tends to happy. I've also found on the larger mobile bases I've built it can be avoided more using a torsion spring script. Adding the torsion spring script reduces the weight impact on the wheels used as springs.

Really like this design, but there's one small issue...the wheels that make up the suspension system (the "spring" ones) kinda clip into the blocks around them over time, and after a while said blocks kinda just strike the ground and obliterate themselves.

I can provide screenshots to better showcase what I mean, if needed. And if there's a way to fix it...please let me know. This issue is kinda making this thing an immobile base right now...

Oh yes! Now I want to get on course after the Kapisi :D

earth's gravity is not as strong as on the alien planet. Since the alien planet's gravity is heavier I build and test it there to ensure it'll work on planets with a lesser gravity.
Luvstruckmango  [author] 8 Dec, 2023 @ 4:22pm
It does. If you find the suspension is too strong turn down the strength the blocks labeled "spring"

it dont work on earth or ?

I know this builder and he thoroughly tests every functionality before releasing a build. All subgridded wheel builds require scripts or remote control blocks to work.

Personally, I think this thing needs a crane for pulling wrecks onto the deck, but if it's missing a crane that's my fault for not building it yet.

I tried it out and it drives well. The suspension is an interesting design, I would not have thought of doing it that way. My own setup is completely different - I used hinges instead of rotor's.

Either you don't have scripts enabled, or you didn't properly disable the parking brake which is only a matter of clicking P. Its built to be straight forward like driving the average rover.
Luvstruckmango  [author] 2 Dec, 2023 @ 10:51pm
Oh it works. Remember you must have scripts turned on to run it.
Checkmate 2 Dec, 2023 @ 9:59pm
Doesn't work! I sit in all the control seats, only one functions. I turn off the brakes and press forward, nothing. Back, nothing. The wheels won't even turn. Such a shame, is one of the better mobile bases I've seen, too bad it's useless.

Lol I see I have reached another homeworld fan lol
GammaGam3s 1 Dec, 2023 @ 10:02pm
Ah yes the inner homeworld fan is present for this lol
Ahsoka Tano 28 Nov, 2023 @ 8:22pm
honestly :D (also unlike most game companies at least Keen actually has reasonable pricing)
Luvstruckmango  [author] 28 Nov, 2023 @ 7:14pm
I'm glad. I know DLC can be a touchy subject for some. But I really like them and they give me more options for making things look pretty and functional at the same time.
Ahsoka Tano 28 Nov, 2023 @ 5:28pm
loving the block updates too, the added DLC/update addons are glorious :D
Luvstruckmango  [author] 28 Nov, 2023 @ 5:15pm
Now that I'm happy with the experimenting of suspensions I'm working on up armoring and up arming the vehicle type. So you can probably expect some more combat oriented ones coming out too.
Luvstruckmango  [author] 28 Nov, 2023 @ 5:08pm
Yep! And you're welcome!
Ahsoka Tano 28 Nov, 2023 @ 4:46pm
OMG, you actually installed a ton of my own upgrades on this thing :D LOVE IT!
