Found time & patience to update the mod. It should properly work again!
Decided to re-do it with the current version of resupply files, due to not playing GoH since a few updates. Also added two new supply vehicles.
Know issue: If it won't update for you correctly you may have to re-subscribe ;)
You will have more supply cost (ressource of conquest) so yes!
But if you bought 5 supply trucks in the vanilla game and emtpy them all, you also have high costs ;)
In the end YOU have to enjoy it and nobody else ;)
You can always 'cheat' (conquest) supply mechanics, by resupplying units before you leave the match also in vanilla game. It may be just more dramatically impacting (re-)supply costs of supply vehicles because their increased supply pool hereby higher (potential) costs for supply vehicles.
The mod itself doesn't change the cost of re-supply tho!
Which map do you mean? I can only imagine there is a supply vehicle placed, what is not presented in the selection of conquest vehicles. Even tho, those 'decor vehicles' are not usable, so the supply function should not be triggered imo.
@Bluz_IO As i said, it's not a supply vehicle in the conquest mode.
I know complete overhaul mods like 'Gates of Steel' use the opel maultier for example. However i was always relying on their supply settings, because balancing reasons. It's fixed now anyways, thanks for letting me know :)
I added it to the list of supported vehicles now. I never intended to modify units that are not presented in the vanilla conquest mode. Update your mod, if it isn't already.
Now it should be compatible with mods that add this vehicle. (Supply amount as crates on model, however i counted the barrels als 'large' otherwise this unit would be useless lol)
i did a fresh reinstall a month or so ago and haven't downloaded any big mods since then, so i don't see how it could snuck itself into my game
Opel Maultier is not a basegame supply unit afaik, herby not supported by my mod.
Are you using other mods that add new units?
If A&Rm won't add new supply units and only uses the basegame ones (afaik this mod makes changes to the research tree) it should work, if you load my mod AFTER A&Rm.
However if new units are added, it may lead to Errors because i have set supply amout individually per unit while the file defining supply distribution overall uses a variable (%supply) and not a fixed number.
A new unit that only looks for the fixed number in the supply distribution file, will make the game crash because it doesn't exist. :(
It' s true that logistical issues don't seem a really "sexy topic" in a game, and that it's better to simplify them as much as possible, while taking them into account at the level of playability.
Cheers.
@dgn I guess you can never display full realism in a game, there are always abstract concepts to make it work. Still the amount of creates & low supply on trucks bothered me.
Also respawning ammo was weird. (Should have kept it for Germany
But at the time, they still knew how to use their bayonet when there was no more ammunition ...
Cheers.
To want to model the management of the supply of ammunition, that would be it. Is it really useful in the game ?
One concept has been forgotten, the principle of "fire unit" (a kind of average value of the daily basic consumption). Example if the endowment of a squad LMG is 1000 cartridges, it is a single "unit of fire". A combat squad can, at the start of a mission, be assigned 2 or 3 "fire units". It would have seemed enormous, but ALL the members of a combat group, whatever the nationality of their army or their rank, carried ammunition for the collective weapon of the group, in addition to that corresponding to their individual weapon.
Glad you like it. :)
Im not planning to make a damange mod, because it
a) is a pain to balance it out, because what is 'realistic damage'. It can also affect gameplay a lot.
b) a mess to update, because it needs a lot of work for every weapontype, ammo, etc. (afaik)
I also think the devs did a pretty good job about damange & pen values of weapons and there are quite a lot of damange mods in the workshop already.
That is correct. I felt the regenerating ammo was unrealistic.
To compensate for that, i also doubeled the base supply of crates from 250 to 500 units.
Also you have way more supply on trucks, the standard supply truck had 1000 and depending on nation you have 4000-6000 units per truck.
Positive side effect (at least for me):
You may look more which ammo you use, artillery taxes more on your ammo ressources as small caliber ammo obviously.
And (let's assume you're not cheesing the game mechanics) you can still sell empty supply trucks if the restock (of ammo) costs too much, but sssssh! ;)
