@Sieg Rem , if you use "Weapon Speed Boost", you don't need this one, as "Weapon Speed Boost" has all of these features too.

Regarding the reloading speed of shotguns, there is a discussion on "alliedmods." And there is information that someone managed to figure out how to edit the recharge rate. @Sheggs2 , try to play one map with this mod enabled first, to generate the cfg file in "ems" folder

@infinitig35 , the additional ammo clip is a bug I mentioned on the mod description. The fast reload ignores the shotgun reload count so some additional ammo clip will be added. As for the stuttering problem, I'm not sure about it. Last time I tested, I didn't stutter.

Where exactly is the shotgun speed boost.txt file located and what lines do I change the values on? I tried extracting the vpk contents with gcfscape but I can't find the config file anywhere.

I'm a huge fan of your mods but unfortunately this mod makes the ground stutter as I move and sometimes it skips over one round and it must be mostly because of my mods cause it also makes the clip sizes bigger. Too bad otherwise I'm all for increasing reload speed of the shotguns.

i sort of feel like thats the case too with it being hardcoded into the engine and the only chance anyone'd be able to change it at all is an in to source code which is something valve themselves surely will be lenient on and wait which version of merciless bots? the complete one i bet beause i dont remember seeing the txt in the simple version, sure i'll see it out for myself

@something something house , Scar is a special case as its burst fire is hardcoded. I ever tested it before on my "Merciless Bots" mod (you can find "weapon damage boost.txt" in the "Merciless Bots" cfg folder that contains features to increase fire rate, & this shotgun mod was part of it), & there were some bug reports from people back then that somehow fire rate boost didn't work on scar only. You can also give a try, but my guess is that the scar problem is because the fire rate is already fast enough so the change on fire rate doesn't show up. & probably if the trick of the pause after shooting burst fire can be found out, probably it won't be impossible to make scar full auto.

can you do the same thing for the Scar? give it a speed boost perhaps full auto? the burst firing is cool and all and getting mods to slow the firing rate down to achieve full auto is getting a little too old

@Doomgamer9000 , actually all you mentioned are already available as some optional features on "Merciless Survivor Bots". I just haven't extracted any of them as standalone mods like this one yet. Probably later I'll extract the damage buff & more throwables as standalone mods.

I love this mod!! Could you make the same with other weapons such as m60 and throwables like giving us features to customize how many throwables we can have and damage buff?

actually great addon, its nice to know that I get to at least look forward to using T1 shotguns instead of throwing them off the moment the Director spawns in a T2 weapon

@gameluna , I hope that you can solve the problem soon. Alternatively you can try to make a request to people on alliedmods to port this mod as a plugin. It should be very easy to port, as I only used few netprops functions & my scripts are easy enough to learn & understand (I don't like complicated things so I also made scripts as simple as possible).

@kurochama,I haven't encountered this situation for the first time. The earliest time was when the powerful AI mod for special infections became permanently ineffective after installing the special infection generator. I don't know why this happened, but don't worry. @gameluna , usually there's a file generated after crash, but I also don't know how to read that file as it usually contains lots of information & numbers.

But it's really a strange case if even after removing all mods, your game still crashed, as usually most crash problems can be solved when disabling all mods

I think I have to give up... I backed up all my original game files to another place, then downloaded the original game through Steam, cancelled all mods, and only kept this one. When I used this original version to play the game, it still collapsed... Perhaps this is destined rejection

@kurochama,It's hard for me to determine what caused the crash right now. I just cancelled most of the script mods, leaving only a few that didn't affect the actions of special infected individuals. Then, while shooting at the charging charger that was charging towards me, the game suddenly crashed and I don't know what happened (I didn't change any animation of the charger, nor did it have any AI reinforcement behavior). After that, I uninstalled some additional mods and tried again, I crashed during the zombie wave attack this time, for no reason at all. Is there any way to view what looks like a log file generated in the root directory after the game crashed?

@gameluna , it's also possible. Plugins can also cause undetected crash, & there's also a case when special infected's attack or ability can also cause crash during animation (examples: when a hunter successfully pounces a survivor, jockey successfully rides a survivor etc). Sometimes it's caused by certain plugins/ mods, or some animation mods or special infected skin mods (there's a case where a hunter skin mod could cause a crash when there's much blood during clawing a pounced survivor) can also cause it. So if you also use plugins, you can try to disable them too.

@gameluna , the easiest ways would be searching all of your script mods (usually they have small file size as they only contain scripts) & excluding other mods (weapon skin mods, character skin mods & some texture mods can be excluded). Try to disable all animation mods too if necessary (some animation mods can also cause the game to crash). Then, after you find all of your script mods, disable all of them & then enable them one by one until the same crash happens again. Then, you'll find the mod causing the crash.

@kurochama,How to efficiently detect white mods? In my case, this mod is white, and I don't know which caused the conflict. Currently, the most certain situation is that when using firearms to fire, the game has a chance of crashing, and the console does not have any error messages about firearms firing. How can we troubleshoot this issue?

@gameluna , I finished testing to play 2 maps, "Hard Rain" map 1 & "Alley War" last map, with 4 mods at once ("Enhanced Angry Bots", "Demolition Gunners", "CS Sniper Special Buff", & "Shotgun Speed Boost"), & my game didn't crash, like on these screenshots:

Even on "Alley War", I went until the scavenge finale ended. So, probably one of your mods caused a crash when used together with "Shotgun Speed Boost". You can try to check some of script mods that you have, as there's high possibility that one or some mods triggered the crash on your game. It would be easier to investigate the roots of the problems once you find the mods.

@kurochama,Actually, it feels a bit faster than before. The normal shooting speed is slightly faster than before, mainly due to the combination of pushing and shoving actions. The firing speed of the pump action shotgun can be increased to 1.5 times the original speed. I don't want to disrupt this operation, nor do I want the normal shooting feeling of the shotgun to be too stiff (by default, there will be a short pause after the pump action). Therefore, it is designed to be 1 to slightly enhance the sense of operation

@gameluna , for Fire Rate, I think it would be better to set it to 0 instead, as 1 doesn't have much change (fire rate only shows significant change when setting to 10, 20, 30 or higher), & that also saves some script process, I think.

@kurochama,I usually adjust different values based on the balance of my own game values, and make various adjustments according to my actual gaming experience. For example, in the previous Melee Frenzy game, I only adjusted the Knockback and Damage Resist of special infected individuals, and all others were adjusted to 0. The Fire Rate of this mod is generally 1 (almost not affected, as pushing and shoving can be used for alternating shooting), The ammunition changing speed varies depending on the weapon data that is self adjusted. Anyway, I really need this mod to balance the reloading value of the shotgun because as far as I know, Workshop currently does not have any reloading animations that can bring actual acceleration to pump and auto shotgun

I guess this may be a problem caused by firearms firing, because when I don't use any firearms and only use close combat to pass levels, the game won't crash. But once I use firearms firing too many times, the game will crash directly after a certain firing, perhaps this will become the root clue of the problem?

@kurochama,Any map, including the official one, I guess this may not be a conflict, but rather a game memory overflow and crash caused by the excessive operation of the mod itself. I have tried to clear the level by disabling enemy spawning through admin, but it will not crash. Once normal spawning starts, the game will easily crash

@gameluna , I'll try to check it later when I'm back home. Normally it shouldn't crash, as I used the same script template as the "CS Snipers Special Buff" with some modifications. As for any maps, did they include custom maps or just official maps?

Found a big problem! After subscribing to this mod, the game is extremely prone to crashing and running on any map for no more than 3 minutes. Can you help check what the problem is?

Love it, so you don't have to worry about the large capacity shotgun running out of ammunition at critical moments
