If you load it after DE then you'll only have the XP and skill gain changes, and faster plant growth speed.
It's expressed in centimeters and is added on top of the initial starting depth, so to have it be infinite, just set it to an absurdly high value.
Also, are you sure that you have the mod enabled?
i installed the mod and tried some stuff but the XP rate seems to be the same
If I remember correctly, one of the main reasons for late game lag/connection issues is simply having too many items on the sub. Even if your crew tries to actively get rid of unneeded items, with how long the regular campaign map lasts, you are still bound to have cabinets full of various items/resources that could be useful.
So theoretically, by having a shorter campaign map, the campaigns are shorter, and players have less to time to hoard too many items which causes end game lag/connection issues.
So yes, this could indirectly help with late game lag.
I'm not sure about friths biomes, it should work If you load it before this mod. Although then the level generation changes that this mod does won't come into effect (the campaign map should still be smaller though).
