What happened to the Norway mod? Why is it removed and can you please put it up again? It was my favorite mod and now it's suddenly gone.

I am only subscribed to your mods and listed compatible mods. When I use a Kontreadmiral to make a citadel it doesn't consume it. This is ecxtremely OP. I think its an overlap with your other mods. Not sure if you still make these or edit thes, but you might want to check this out.

Considering the era Bluetooth is from, would it be out of the question to rename his "Denmark" to "The Danes"?

Can't play it. Civilization claims it requires GK

And what do you think we Norwegians think about Denmark, when they did such as basicly taking us? After the struggle of makinga propper kingdom, and not only small kings, and we colonized all that we could. Parts of what is now England, France, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, THE USA. And do you know why we lost it all? Basicly because of Denmark. Possibly not the English and french parts and such, but still our big isles. And of our biggest chances, to colonize America before no other. We were there 500 years before Colombus.

What England did to you wasn't much, ebbesenthomas.

JFD, can You update this mod? (CiD, ExCE, CBP etc.)
Herpling 3 Nov, 2015 @ 10:40am
i'm getting an error:
"Runtime Error: C:\Users\Wouter\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\JFD's The Kingdom of Denmark-Norway (v 1)\Lua\JFD_DenmarkNorway_Events.lua:125: attempt to compare number with nil"
from what i can gather (I'm not too good with lua) it would seem that the game thinks the era is nil (I'm using the enlightenment era mod)

i see no point of adding this if got denmark viking erly, swedan viking later. it may clash me think so i'll avoid.
Kronk with a Gun 22 May, 2015 @ 12:19pm
@Pumpa Paj I believe that you need the Denmark DLC to play this mod.

The description image for Denmark-Norway seems to have disappeared.

I think that the Dominium Maris Baltici should not be in a Danish faction, when looking at the history during Christian IV's time, the Baltic Sea was dominated by Sweden.

Cant seem to get any of your MODs to work for me. will not allow to enable any of them for some reason which really stinks, got the gods n Kings as well as brave New expansions but everytime I try to sub and then enable a MOD shows there are dependents. have seen others with same issue seems to be no answer/fix.
frutiemax 24 Jan, 2015 @ 9:25pm
I've played a game with denmark and that Longboat is awesome! It should have been this way in civ 5 vanilla IMO.
amunoz 22 Jan, 2015 @ 12:50pm
I can't seem to use ANY mods that have vikings, norwegians, celts, danes, etc. Everytime I download these civs, and try to turn them on, I am told that I am missing this or that. How can I get this worked out? I have downloaded and paid for the Korean mod, Wonders mod, scrambled nations, etc. but no matter what I do, I am still unable to use ANY nordic civilization. Can someone tell me what is going on?
Sakarias 19 Jan, 2015 @ 6:46am
I really enjoy all the civs you've been creating. What I would love to see though is a remake of Sweden, possibly with a UA giving some kind of bonus to coastal cities on rivers since control of such cities around the baltic sea was a goal for Sweden during its time as a great power because of the possibility to tax trade passing through. Replacing the Hakkapeliitta with a UB or at least changing its ability feels called for as well.

Christian IV... A great builder but a baad general. When the german civil war (war against catholics and protestants) he, took his troops into war because he thought that Denmark should help the north german states (because they were protestant) and he were duke of Holstein... The german catholics invaded Jutland and when swedish king Gustav Adolph (Gustavus Adolphus) offered help to Christian he said NO!!!... but a danish king is a king :D
JFD  [author] 9 Oct, 2014 @ 3:08pm
@SirusKing Not exactly, but Sweden from that time period, yes.
unknownperson5555 9 Oct, 2014 @ 2:35pm
Perhaps next we can have the kingdom of sweden and norway?
BlitzMartinDK 21 Sep, 2014 @ 8:22am
I still need an answer to the problem with the diplo-screen (window on the right), that is too small, and the inability to access the citystates.
Krios 18 Sep, 2014 @ 8:34am
Son of a Sixpack: Although Christian the 4th had a lot of faults, one thing he was most certainly not, was a coward. One authentic story tells of him battling a swedish armada, when the impact of a cannonball blew half his face off, blinding him on one of his eyes. Even though his crew begged of him to get to safety under deck, he stayed with his crew, demanding that everyone kept on fighting together. The story you told is one of british admiral Horatio Nelson, though still an obvious joke of course.
Fat Ungrateful Squirrel 15 Sep, 2014 @ 7:32pm
These mods are really top notch, not sure if ya have already, but should consider posting a template/tutorial on BNW modding on Civ Fanatics so others can make mods of this kind of quality, it would definitely help considering how old and somewhat outdated Kael's guide is.
Niller 13 Sep, 2014 @ 9:46am
God bless Denmark
JFD  [author] 13 Sep, 2014 @ 8:36am
@omanaz I intended to before you said it :) More Civs will be making one, too. Mine will be led by James VI, theirs by Robert the Bruce. Keep a watch for the comments section for those civs - they will positively explode xD
JFD  [author] 13 Sep, 2014 @ 8:35am
@Son of a Sixpack IIRC, a "class act" is a bad thing :p
BlitzMartinDK 13 Sep, 2014 @ 7:53am
Son of Sixpack: that story is normally told of Nelson, you know..
(Besides, whenever have THE SWEDISH !! had an armada big enough to threaten the Danish Fleet? )
omanaz 13 Sep, 2014 @ 7:50am
Since scottland is voting for independence on september 18th make a new scotland civ
Son of a Sixpack 13 Sep, 2014 @ 7:25am
Hi JFD,
I'm a Dane, and Chr. the 4th was awful. But thanks for making him anyway. You are a class act.

Once upon a time, Christian the 4th sailed out with his fleet, ready for battle.
Upon seeing a few Swedish ships in the horizon, he demanded of his valet "hand me my red shirt!". This was to ensure that the any bloodletting would not be visible, thus not discouraging his sailors and soldiers.
Unfortunatey, the few Swedish ships soon turned out to be a big armada.
Christian turned to his valet and now stated "Please hand me my brown trousers".
BlitzMartinDK 13 Sep, 2014 @ 3:08am
Problem: The mini-diplomacy screen is very small, so I have nowhere to look for citystates quest (no scrolldown of the dip-miniscreen). I have to go to the big diplo-screen, and click each city state there to see their quest's. Also, I cannot click on a citystate on the map to declare war or peace, or pay a gift -or just check on quest.. Anybody seen this, and know a fix?
JFD  [author] 13 Sep, 2014 @ 1:57am
@Hollandaise Sauce[DK] Okay, will be re-worded in the update. Thanks.
hollandaise sovs 13 Sep, 2014 @ 1:54am
For all those who think that Christian IV was incompetent:
Christian IV didn't loose Norway, or a part of Jutland. He lost Jämtland, Ösel, Halland(Well, the treaty said that Denmark would get all those territories back after 30 years.) and Lübeck. He was a pretty good admiral, however a bad general. He did build a lot of important buildings and cities other than Round Tower, he built Børsen, Kastellet, Oslo, Glücksburg, Fredericia, the Church of Holmen and many, many more.

I really want to thank you JFD for making this mod, however the description almost makes it seem like Denmark was annexed or something, under the reign of Christian IV. Denmark was still a big maritime power after the reign of Christian IV, people like Niels Juel and Tordenskjold would continue to win great victories at sea, and the Danish navy was one of the 5 biggest navies until 1807. But again, thanks a lot for making this mod!

@Imagine0905 One day, the developers proclaimed Civ V to be the most moddable game of the series yet, implying great potential. Another day, the developers decided to hardcod every value that modders like myself would like to change.
imagine0905 12 Sep, 2014 @ 8:15pm
The wheel?!? What is the historical background for this trait??
El Presidente 12 Sep, 2014 @ 8:14pm
Your nstall only works with the Windows version. I don't know about the MAC version but I use the Linux version and Aspyr hasn't got modng working yet but they promiised it will work in a future patch. I haven't read them say thir MAC port will get modding. I subscribed to it so it will be ready when the patch the Linux port.

Dank'e & Thanks this looks really nice :D cheers
JFD  [author] 12 Sep, 2014 @ 7:42am
@[KhLe]Witchhunter It's more about synergising with the raider playstyle of Harald's Denmark (which emphasises attacks from the sea), than to reflect naval history.
UraniumStag 12 Sep, 2014 @ 7:39am
Bloody well done; I've been waiting for something like this for some time.
I'm a bit curious as to the Longboat, though. The vikings weren't really known for their naval warfare, nor for their use of archery. It is cool, obviously, but IMO a building or improvement (Such as a Trelleborg, one of the forts made by Harald Bluetooth?) would have fit better.

I do love the Danish-Norwegian kingdom, though. Brilliant!
