Any chance you would be willing to share the source files for this? I'm working on a project of my own and having a set of clean, fixed-up L4D1 shotgun animations would be very helpful.

Okay I got it to work, it uses Chrome Shotgun sounds now.

It's just that for some reason it crashes my game, I will try again though.

The thing is, decompiling breaks animations. And fixing them is a real hassle. I actually use crowbar and GCFscape, that's how I found out it uses old events. Alas I can't really recompile so I used HEX to edit the events. Since that's what MrFunreal said in his guide .

i used a QC from a friend as a basis for compiling, which was originally a l4d1 QC modified to be compatible with l4d2. it was made before TLS, and i wasn't even aware TLS had added those, so i never thought to change those sound events

you're free to recompile the model to make it use the new events yourself, i won't care, but i would advise not using hex editing when there's much better ways to look inside of vpk files, like crowbar or GCFscape

Decompiling the model also shows Pump Shotgun events instead of Chrome Shotguns ones.

Should be using Shotgun_Chrome.Deploy , Shotgun_Chrome.LoadShell and
Shotgun_Chrome.Pump .

Why does it use default pump shotgun sounds for me then? When I checked the sound events using the hex editor it still used Shotgun.Deploy , Shotgun.LoadShell and Shotgun.Pump sound events instead of their Chrome variants that came with the TLS update?

i didn't touch the sounds, it still uses chrome shotgun sound events, i even linked a chrome shotgun sound mod in the description that i use alongside this

I beg you, can you make this use Chrome Shotgun sounds? I tried to do it myself with HEX editing but it kept crashing the game when I picked it up.

if you mean the animations, you can find some great l4d1 animations by my friend nerdie , and by vanyarin , both have done great l4d1 weapon animations

if you just mean concept art styled weapons, ive thought about doing my own version of the hunting rifle from zoey's, but afaik there's not a lot more than that to do, francis's mp5 is mostly hidden and just looks to be the css model anyway

i didn't want to deal with working with decompiled animations, so i used ox's source files without any touch ups other than fixing the shotgun reload bug in l4d2 (it flashes on screen for a frame, it's weird and hard to describe) and also adds the reload start back so that it isn't just instantly up in your face

ive been starting to learn how to do animation edits though so i might make that adjustment myself later on
