*Last thing I have to check is if one of the 2 or 3 manual install mods I have are interfering but I can't test it easily right now.
Assuming that you
1. successfully enabled the mod in the main menu
2. successfully enabled the mod for the specific save and
3. are playing the game in the english language,
you could very well have a mod installed that replaces the entirety of the UI_EN file for some reason.
Try putting your chosen Cheery's Intro Text Pack mod really high in both load orders, and, if that doesn't work, try putting it really low in both load orders.

So maybe it's for these reason I can't find mod that modify intro music ?
This file can't be solo, must be in .bank file ?
And if I try to create ZomboidMusic.bank with just the intro.wav, it will overide the 1go .bank file ?
Or anything else ?
I'm currently trying this solution, and using your mod, with custom sentences to get what I want for my personal use. It would be so great if sentences can just be appears randomly, withou pre selection.
If somebody can do this mod, or explain to me how to make a mod like this possible, it would be awesome!
Humans are Endurance predators.
Spring will always come.
It took some tinkering to figure out the mod structure for compatibility with Build 42 and onward, but I figured it out with help from other mods' example and the August blog post.
No new options have been added, but the mods do have icons now.

Your language must be set to english, and, like all Project Zomboid mods, you must enable your desired introductory text mod for the individual saved games you want to use the mod on, as changing your general selection of mods on the main menu only affects the mods used when you start a new game.
I hope this helped.
UI_Intro1 = "The H1Z1 flu came, and Humanity fell.",
UI_Intro2 = "So many lives lost, and yet you remain.",
UI_Intro3 = "Is this 'How you died'? Or.. 'How you Defied?!'",
Which when combined with something like a main menu background replacer, makes for a nice change.
$\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\Translate\EN\UI_EN.txt; Lines 657, 658, 659...
everything worked, it was just necessary to change the language of the game to English
You are correct. This modification only changes the words for the english language.
I only know the english language, so I am unable to provide translations.
If anyone desires to create a version of this modification for another language, anyone is allowed to post this modification in another language without my permission.
do you suppose it'd be difficult to have it randomly pick an intro text option from ones that you select with, say, a list with a bunch of check boxes?
I love the options but I think it'd be nice to be surprised each time with something different, just to spice things up.
Sorry for not going all-out. I'm still testing the waters, I suppose... seeing what sticks.
I am aware that this undermines the point. That was and is 100% intentional.
@jfk the movie
That is an amusing intro text concept; I like it!
I never thought about the disdainful, disparaging, or ribbing angles.
I'll have to see if I can accumulate a few intro texts with any of those tones for when I'm ready to expand this mod.
Yeah; I realized that after the fact.
It was intended to be optimistic, and, compared to the nihilistic original text, it kind of is, considering that it evaluates the survivor's chances of survival as much higher, and it tells the player to keep hope...
...but yes; a word like "encouraging" may have been more... apt.
