That would be GREATLY appreciated! I cant wait to make one in the MP server I'm in
minoes  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 8:37am
I tried making a new one a while back but it just wouldn't work right, might give it another try soon.
Howy 1 May, 2021 @ 5:24pm
I would love to see a M.O.L.E. again! If you could find the time, a working version would be so greatly appreciated!
minoes  [author] 7 Nov, 2020 @ 11:09am
I could release it as a Blueprint but it's so outdated at this point it doesn't really work anymore I think, I could try to make a new one maybe,
InitHello 11 Aug, 2020 @ 9:10pm
Be really cool if you had the time, I remember loving this little bastard.
minoes  [author] 22 Jun, 2018 @ 11:15pm
The whole ship is outdated at this point, I really should make a new one...
Commander Chri5 15 May, 2018 @ 11:43am
The world is outdated, can you place the ship as a blueprint?
minoes  [author] 7 Mar, 2015 @ 2:41am
I used Rotors for that, turn them 45 degrees then build the drill arms on top of those
patrickevans61 27 Feb, 2015 @ 1:39pm
ok how do you put the drill off the ship at 45 degree angles i cant figure out how to do it in some ships i am making pls any help would be great
L O G A N 3 Feb, 2015 @ 5:01pm
please?
minoes  [author] 3 Feb, 2015 @ 8:36am
That is because it's a world and not a blueprint, this is pre-blueprints :) could convert it I supose.
L O G A N 2 Feb, 2015 @ 8:46pm
For some reason when i subscribe I can't see it in my blueprints(sorry fairly new to all this)
minoes  [author] 8 Jan, 2015 @ 2:48pm
Problem has been found and corrected, it's an old design by now though, might need to come up with something new. all the newly spawned asteroids seem to be rather hollow allready.
Nyaki Stryker 7 Jan, 2015 @ 11:47am
Was anything found wrong with it?
Nyaki Stryker 13 Dec, 2014 @ 8:11pm
Thank you :3
minoes  [author] 13 Dec, 2014 @ 4:04pm
Maybe something went wrong with the conversion to the advanced rotor, will take a look soon :)
Nyaki Stryker 12 Dec, 2014 @ 1:07pm
Edit: Al of the mined resources end up being put into the small containers near the drills themselves and will not go deeper into the ship or the large containers to be collected from the connector. I copy/pasted it and tried the normal map and it does the same thing.
Nyaki Stryker 12 Dec, 2014 @ 10:35am
I love to use this for mining since the one i wanted to use no longer works, but my question is how to i get all the resources to the rear connector? I set it to collect all and it only got like 50 stone in it and i couldnt seem to transfer it to the Connector, any help is good thank you.
Nox 7 Nov, 2014 @ 11:04am
Yay!
minoes  [author] 7 Nov, 2014 @ 7:26am
It has allready been updated :)
Nox 7 Nov, 2014 @ 2:35am
Are you going to make a version with the Advanced Rotor block? To make the flow of ores from the drills to the cargo easier?

Really curious what do you think of this :D
minoes  [author] 3 Nov, 2014 @ 9:48am
I'm using gyro's with their override controlls to rotate the drill head so the rotor acts more of just a rotation point/bearing the ship shouldn't turn at all unless I forgot to turn off the rotor.
Xakthos 2 Nov, 2014 @ 7:03pm
So question about Torque offsetting. If the ship starts turning in the direction of the drill head, albit slower than the drills, how could that be offset? I'm trying a drill mod that affects the vibration/rotation of the drills and it threw the M.O.L.E off so trying to figure out how to compensate.:plane:
Xakthos 29 Oct, 2014 @ 11:07am
Well the Small Ship Mega Mod Pack has generators the right size but yeah with the default you need a large something for it. Perhaps something you can tow around that is essentially a connector and collector with a generator.
minoes  [author] 29 Oct, 2014 @ 10:19am
Can't use a gravity generator on it either so might need to make a large collector ship to collect loose ores, could also act as a carrier for the mining ship :)
Xakthos 29 Oct, 2014 @ 9:43am
I'm wondering if a small ship version of this could be created. As far as I can tell the blocks are there but some would cause odd issues such as collectors being full sized.
Caltinor 27 Oct, 2014 @ 11:35am
awesome. honestly i love this design. i can't even improve it....i tried lol
minoes  [author] 26 Oct, 2014 @ 1:22pm
I allready updated the ship to use the new rotors, can use the same new rotors for teh diagonal arms instead of connectors ^^ as you can see in the updated design.
Caltinor 26 Oct, 2014 @ 10:02am
update with new rotor!! now the head doesn't need to eject the ore to get it to the body. also you could use two connectors facing each other to get the rotor-connected drill heads to auto dump. the connectors in locked mode will also hold the heads in place.
minoes  [author] 25 Oct, 2014 @ 11:46am
The sphere should in theory pull the ores past the rotors into the collectors, as the entire head rotates and vibrates a bit it should dislodge any ores so they get sucked in. one of the main issues is that some blocks like conveyors seem to leave gaps that are hard to patch without losing some of the compact design it now has.
Xakthos 25 Oct, 2014 @ 8:55am
It looks good. While I can't run it through paces it still looks like a solid design. The only thing I'm concerned about is with the advanced rotors repositioned on the diagonal arm that the gravity sphere may cause small ores to build up around it. Once they fix it so it can really be tested that's something to keep eye out for. The rotor heads in number of builds seem to be catching points for stuff floating by.
minoes  [author] 25 Oct, 2014 @ 12:58am
Connector/collector systems have been updated to use the new Advanced rotors, keep in mind that mining is currently bugged and it cannot be used yet.
minoes  [author] 23 Oct, 2014 @ 1:08pm
Seems to be the case, I hope they'll fix it soon, I tried a much smaller miner, same problem, as soon as a few drills hit the asteroid it's bye bye framerates
Xakthos 23 Oct, 2014 @ 1:04pm
Would be more apt to say mining is broken I think. It affects the Mk1.1 and MK2 plus I only get the drop when it hits the asteroid indicating it may be mining/rocks that are the problem.
minoes  [author] 23 Oct, 2014 @ 12:39pm
well, nevermind, the miner seems to be broken as it is causing a massive amount of lag
Xakthos 23 Oct, 2014 @ 12:21pm
Yeah this was first thing I thought of for it too. That should make things much easier.
minoes  [author] 23 Oct, 2014 @ 11:56am
omg! new rotor block with coveyor system! will update soon!
Xakthos 20 Oct, 2014 @ 10:20am
Yes I just downloaded your MK II version to look at. Plan on working with it tonight. The connector idea I fiddled with some as well on your MK I and apparently you had similar thoughts. Look forward to seeing it. Having to stop the heads is unfortunate but short of making entire ship rotate to allow static connections there might not be another fix at least for now.
minoes  [author] 20 Oct, 2014 @ 7:47am
I'm using connectors and a buffer on the MK II version you have to stop the head and lock them to transfer items it's not that great either, would love some kind of rotor that can transfer items.

I'm currently working on changing the MKII head back to using connectors and collectors but with the added size I can fit a lot more of them inside, hopefully this will help.
Xakthos 18 Oct, 2014 @ 7:12pm
After having messed around with a few dozen different methods of drilling I have to say I really like your drill head the most. There are a couple of weaknesses to the system though. First is rocks get bunched up around the rotor with the merge blocks. Second is that the transfer via eject from drill to be caught by the main body is slow. It can take it a while (30-60min at times) to catch up. The deformed front armor from the rotor movement while not bad just makes my ocd for repairs kick in. Wonder if there is another method of connection that'd give similar results?
minoes  [author] 27 Sep, 2014 @ 2:16am
I'm working on a MKII version which involves sensors for various systems!
Germ X 25 Sep, 2014 @ 1:11pm
Slap a meteor-sensor on this baby and have a truly cool AFK miner! Really nice design!
MushuIV 23 Sep, 2014 @ 8:22pm
I just have to say i love your design. I copied it in survival the hard way lol only changes i made is removing all the refineries and assemblers for increases cargo space. This was just due to my preference of having dedicated ships and i already have a refinery ship. Keep up on the amazing designs cant wait to see what else you come up with!
jimbobslimbob 23 Sep, 2014 @ 5:51am
This is superb!
minoes  [author] 21 Sep, 2014 @ 1:38pm
Glad you like it, feel free to ask any questions if you have any :)
Earl of Sandvich 20 Sep, 2014 @ 11:23pm
Nicely done! Probably the best mining design after merge blocks and rotors were added.

I'm having fun trying to replicate/reverse-engineer the design into my own maps.
Scouttrooper39 17 Sep, 2014 @ 1:19pm
Thw Mole is realy cool and i gotta admit I hate mining Sqwares
Bolisaris 16 Sep, 2014 @ 12:38am
@ Minoes.... lol I see where you mean now, I thought that button was to explore Steam workshop!
Bolisaris 16 Sep, 2014 @ 12:35am
@ Minoes, thank you for the help mate I am not very good with Steam and thought this was a mod like any other, I will try this again and try an get it working, thankls again.
Bolisaris 16 Sep, 2014 @ 12:32am
@DreddFace (kind of a harsh thing to say/do because of your own ignorance.)

What do you mean, what did I say, all I said was I was unsubscribing, it was not meant as an insult or derogitory remark and TBH it does not sound like one. I agree I am ignorant of the workings of Steam but that does not give you creedance to insult me or people who make remarks on here, maybe if you thought of explaining how it works instead of getting on your pedistal and insulting, you might be better thought of.
