The deploy animation doesnt play if you are already holding out the pistols.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I have the second pistol picking up with the pistols deploy animation without this script .

I have a pure vanilla L4D2 .

The second pistol is picked up with dual pistols deploy animation both in single player game and on dedicated servers.

What is going on?

didn't use it but for a sec I thought it was an outdated mod, a joke or just a mistake till I realised what it was, does it support model changes and reanims

Whenever you first pick up dual pistols, the thirdperson muzzle flash doesn't work. This seems to last until you drop the pistols and pick them up again. It's not terribly game-breaking, but since I play in thirdperson a lot, it just sorta bugs me.

Turns out I had a plugin that would byoass that, fixed now.

@Cuba you'd also have to hook it to player_transition so whatever fix you have applies on new maps, but i can still record something if you want me to

Thought I fixed that, I hooked player_spawn so thats weird it still happens.
Could you record it or even just list steps on how to reproduce it?

another bug, the deploy animation still plays if the player spawns into a map with dual pistols and interacts with anything that doesnt switch weapons like picking up a medkit or opening a door

ive found a minor bug, if a player starts with dual pistols via a mutation and presses e on a pistol, the deploy animation will still play despite already having dual pistols. only happens on the first e press though

How about

function ongameevent item_pickup
if player hold single pistol
delete pistol
give pistol
give pistol

this will remove pistol and once remove then give new pistol and deploy animation always launch
