@Tobz Lothlorien was the next one on the list before I stopped having time/desire to work on this project. I had started it but never finished. Also in general City Names were usually an issue so making more civs resulted in smaller amounts of city names to go around. There was also 2 elf civs already, but only 1 dwarf civ, and not enough dwarf cities to make more.

I click subscribe but this and Middle Earth city states don't show up in my mods list so I can't use the true locations mod either :(

@gregdison92 Use the eras mods by Blou Blou or Irn's Medieval Version. Link to Irn's Medieval version is on Middle Earth Civilizations page.

@yenyang this mod doesn't allow for era capping. I dont want to launch nukes with souron, I want to march armies with medieval weapons and technology. Would you consider making era capping a capability in the game set up?

@yenyang thanks for your answer! I tried it without all DLCs except the mandatory ones, it still happens even if I play 1 vs 1 and just with the middle earth civilizations.

@esox I do not know what is is. I assume you don't have any mods by other creators active for me to blame. I have heard other people have the same issue, but I don't remember anyone figuring out why it happened. I have tried limited testing but couldn't repeat it myself.

Assuming you will still have fun, I recommend removing the TSL mod and playing a new game. My guess is that whatever causes the problem is from that mod.

Hi yeanyang, i really appreciate your mod but I've got the problem that the game always crashes around round 92 +-2 (tried three games, if I load the game again it still crashes at the same point if i click next round). Do you have an Idea what could be the problem? I use your following middle earth mods:

barbarians
civilizations
city states
the true start location
middle earth only
and obviously the soundtrack

@KotN OneManWolfpack From the main page for MEC under Quick Manual Fix:
In order to fix the issue where your cities disappear upon building certain buildings.
Go to C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Middle Earth Civilizations (v 9)\XML\MEC_UnitArtInfoCulturalVariation.xml and delete the 6 lines that start with <Buildings> and end with </Buildings>.

Anyone know why the graphics that represent my cities start to disappear around turn 40 when I use this mod? my city tiles just look like blank tiles.

@XXunknkwn_ninja4 I think middle earth civilizations has a section in the description about multiplayer games. I have never done it and can't help in any way.

@Blackwing_Raven If this or any of my other mods does not show up in your mods list after subscribing you should try deleting your mods database cache Its located at C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\Civ5ModsDatabase.db. Then restart the game and the mod may redownload. If you have trouble with that you can use the Direct Download and put it into you mods folder at C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\.

@jan make sure you have other mods that add civilizations and city states to the game. This just removes civs from the game.

@Hastarnas Mastare Are you using any one else's mods? In the past there have been crashes to desktop from using Middle Earth Only and one of the Eras mods by Blou Blou. I thought I fixed that though. Do you have the most current version of each mod. MEC v. 8 MEO v. 3 MEB v. 2 MECS v. 1

@Hastarnas Mastare This mod removes the civilizations, city states, and unique units, etc from the base game temporarily. It does not add anything to replace them. You must use this mod with other mods that add Civilizations and City States as well. You cannot use this mod by itself.
If you are looking for Middle Earth Civilizations or Middle Earth City States please click on my collection above and download those mods. Middle Earth Civilizations requires both Gods and Kings and Brave New World expansions.

V3 of this mod should be compatible with Blou Blou's Eras - Medieval mod and Eras - Renaissance Mod. If you choose to use one of these mods I recommend using Eras - Renaissance because some of the uniques for some of the civilizations occur durring that era and will not be available if using the medieval one.

@Pantera160 It's an order of operations issue. I think what's happening is that if MEO is loaded first it removes all of the firaxis civilizations. Then Blou Blou's Eras mod (Renaissance or Medieval) attempts to make it so the AI won't pick any civ with unique buildings, units, etc after said era, but since the civilization doesn't exist any more the game crashes. Testing this would be as simple as deleteing or commenting all of lines between and including the <Civilizations> and </Civilizations> tags in the Era's mod.

@ndrfno0 Thanks for agreeing with me. It also removes vanilla city states so that only the ME city states show up and unique units so that ME unique units can be gifted from city states.

i have played games with civs chosen randomly from the ones come with civ and ones from the middle earth civs mod. this mod just removes the non middle earth civs so you dont need to go to all the hassle of manually setting up all the middle earth civs manually if you only want to use them. thats why it doesnt come with any civs - if you merged the 2 mods you would have ppl complain in comments that they cant use the middle earth civs with other civs or mods that introduce civs.

i think its probably better to have this way, so ppl just have to toggle this mod if they want to have firaxis or other mod civs plus middle earth civs. otherwise you have to still have two mods, but toggle 2 mods (instead of this one mod) to have middle earth civs and firaxis civs OR just middle earth civs

@Flashover No i don't see any reason to combine them. You can use MEC and MECS by themselves if you want to include firaxis civs, or if you don't then you add in MEO and it removes them.

I see. This is a mod that allows me to use only Middle Earth civs, installed serperately. Got it. Would you consider combining this MOD with 5 or 6 Middle Earth civs. Or does that cause problems?

@Flashover My other mods are accessible through the collection above. The collection is called Official Middle Earth Civilizations Collection. The mod with the civilizations is called Middle Earth Civilizations. There is also Middle Earth City States and Middle Earth Barbarians.

@Zigan My other mod Middle Earth Civilizations includes music from Battle for Middle Earth 2 This mod doesn't actually include anything regarding the LOTR. It just removes content from the game so that you are left with the content from my other mods Middle Earth Civilizations and Middle Earth City States.

ive got no clue on how to add this. yes, i have the add-ons. so maybe a clear, concise set of step-by-step instructions would help - and undoubtedly be appreciated.
