nick calls coach "coach" in the intro, probably due to the fact that coach wears a polo with three letters, "FHS", which two of them are literally "HS", standing for "HighSchool"

(update on the "ellis knowing coach's name") turns out, i'm wrong. i'm assuming it was prolly the "active talker" mod that was doing that. it's that, or iirc, on the xbox360 version of the game, ellis would actually call coach by name. i could be wrong, but that's what i remember.

THANK YOU, If there's ever a time where a character in the Left 4 Dead universe never actually reveals their name it's Coach himself because Coach isn't a name it's a job title.

Well, Coach is wearing a shirt that has the school logo/name of the school he taught in, so maybe Nick just put two and two together?

On a second thought, intro cutscene may not be cannon. It's there to show few stuff about the game but there are things that doesn't make sense in the actual game itself.

Just a question... Isn't Nick calls Coach by his name in the game's startup cutscene. So while they are not really close at the time it shows that Nick does know Coach's name.

For some reason Nick already calls Coach sigma in the first map of Ohio Center, this mod takes away kai cenat rizz from Nick.
