Huge variation in playstyle while still retaining Kenshi-ness, and the goal of attempting to survive and thrive even in the 3rd stage of the infection makes end-game strategizing and training feel far more rewarding, in combination with making me actually want to engage with all the base building mechanics of Kenshi
