is it compatible with AI enhancement mods like LAMBS?
ty
I didn't take headless clients into account during the development. If I figure out how the headless clients work, I'll update it.
Yes it's in seconds. Make sure the automode for that side is enabled.
Yes, via CBA options, you disable that specific LAMBS feature, and leave this one to get the job properly done
Just check it out on ADD ON OPTIONS menu
I think I have more to discuss with you about possible improvements...
In order to not fill your comments page with this matter, I've created a new thread, if you don't mind
Yes, they have similar effects.
Yeah LAMBS has done a great job and I will also integrate some of its features into mine in future updates.
But for the AI behavior after receiving hostile information, I intend not to interfere with it in this mod. Instead I prefer the mission makers to decide.
Some AI squads can be enabled to pursue enemies automatically using the EP mod, while others should stick with their waypoints otherwise things would become out of control.
I've just checked LAMBS, and although it may seem to give a more complete feature, the fact that the info sharing makes all other aware groups set to Combat mode, they will just hit the dirt, even if miles from the known threat, and not moving towards it... Making their knowledge useless!
Your mod seems to better manage it all, making groups that has the info move or better engage the threat!
If you could still be emplementing things like "has radio" for the leader.and such, yours would be much more usable!
[*]LAMBS enable units who has a radio to share/receive info at longer distance. VIS doesn't distinguish units with/without a radio.
[*]LAMBS disallows units who has ACE-surrendered or has been ACE-handcuffed to send information. VIS and EIS don't consider these ACE features.
[*]LAMBS will set receiver groups who are within some distance to Combat mode. EIS and VIS don't fiddle with AI behaviors.
As for NR6 HAL, you guys can figure it out cuz I didn't find its github repository.
I didn't find the documentation concerning the details of info sharing in LAMBS, so I looked into the code on github and also did an experiment. And I found some differences:
[*]LAMBS implements sharing among AI leader groups. VIS and EIS also enable player leader groups to send and receive information.
[*]With LAMBS, a group shares info with nearby groups whose leader is within the range. With VIS, a group shares info with nearby groups who has any member within the range.
Can you tell what your mods differs from LAMBS` info sharing feature?
It should. I haven't tried out the NH6 HAL, but since this mod doesn't fiddle with ai behavior, it should be compatible.
Are you sure the mod is loaded? Is it in the addon list in the game?
Not sure how to reproduce or provide extended logging to help support this bug report - it's just that the VIS menu isn't in the CBA addon settings drop-down list.
I checked my .RPT as well and there are no error references to the mod, just that it was loaded.
I created a new user in the game and still saw the addon options in a mission.
Is this unique to me or are others having this issue too?
I published some updates, which revoked restrictions on player leader sending information, ensuring info transmission at the cost of more server-client data exchanges.
Is it in singleplayer or multiplayer?
Who is sending info, player leader or AI leader?
VIS: share with nearby squads only.
EIS: share with any groups you specify, ignoring distance limit.
I would recommend VIS for singleplayer if you are not a mission editor.
