Creative freedom is not the issue, here. The issue is that this character, and a lot that've fallen into this same pitfall, is simply ineffective for the game it was put into. Ninja, a base-game character, uses a lot of point-blank moves but utilizes a lot of mobility, zoning, projectiles , and having good verticality-gaining options to put him into his effective range and give him useful combos; this character has none of those things, the only effective attack range is point blank and straight ahead, and that kind of design does not fit well into a game designed with the balance YOMI Hustle establishes. This would be a character moveset for a much more traditional fighting game like Tekken or Street Fighter and doesn't fit well with even the unmodified game.
I wish I could get in contact with every single YOMI Hustle mod creator and ask them to stop creating characters who only work at point-blank range. Good spriting here, but please give this guy more to do than get completely shut down by anyone who can out-reach/-range him.
