I never understood the need for the Divided Patronage penalty in the first place. All it does it make it so you're strongly rewarded for "feeding" a couple vassals rather than having a bunch of smaller ones. I understand the desire for an increasing penalty for vassalizing the galaxy, but I always though it should be based on the relative empire size of all your vassals vs you, rather than a per-empire flat tax.
