Report a translation problem
There is another mod that turns off the sig-locking on the proto_defs file, which combined with my altered file here can make exactly these four have albedo tint and no others. This is what I used to test my changes here and generate the shots above, however not only does this mod not work on casual, you can't take it onto ANY VAC-secured server (it messes with the game's code so connecting to a VAC-secured server will catch you a swift ban).
The screenshots don't appear to be ori locked (and that's something you can fake for purposes of screenshots) so I concluded the latter.
If the author of Sky Stallion asks me to also orientation-lock the checkerboard texture in this submission, I will do it and make a patch to the submission. Short of that; I'm not going to make speculative additions beyond what I *know for sure* they wanted
