Kel 20 Sep, 2017 @ 5:35pm
I'm having the same issue as below
Zaffre 1 Jan, 2017 @ 8:16am
I'm having this problem where it is pink no matter what color i choose, is there a way to fix it. I have a brand new computer so i'm not sure if it's on my end, I'm not the most tech literate.

Is there any way to make it extend further?
Überium 26 Nov, 2016 @ 10:48am
finaly something its usefull for piston landing gear :)

Good news and bad news:
Good news, this has been DX11'd.
Bad news, it's a new mod, not an update.

No DX11

can anyone make a piston mod that strong and also has lots of differnt sizes plus is able to work on large and small ships plz and thank you if you do ;)
Roman Cat 15 Nov, 2015 @ 3:13am
dx11?
Kermondale 25 Oct, 2015 @ 3:13pm
Dx11?
N-Trippy 13 Aug, 2015 @ 12:29pm
Wow. Immediately puts massive amounts of tortion on a ship making it spin wildly. The amount of gyros and thrusters needed to counter are not worth it.
Vas 7 Aug, 2015 @ 5:11pm
Looks like another abandon mod? Ah well.
BLACK۞EYE 4 Aug, 2015 @ 6:52am
Is there any chances for DX11 version?
Gunrule911 12 Jul, 2015 @ 7:33pm
pls make dx11 version
Captain_Carter 6 Jul, 2015 @ 3:26pm
Absolutley, positvely, must have for small ships...thanks for this neccessity!
Captain Awesome 2 Jun, 2015 @ 5:37am
Did some testing with Sloped Armor Blocks around the Piston head so when it's retracted the head doesn't touch the blocks.... but still seems to damage it self and the sloped blocks around it. But only seems to happen when the piston retracts.

Very useful mod I have used it on the last few ships I have built.
[TSF] Mason 1290 6 Feb, 2015 @ 4:46am
make it so its all one. not 2 parts
MagnusEffect 26 Nov, 2014 @ 1:05am
I'm glad you kept this legacy mod available. Mod packs can be nice, but sometimes less is more. :)
pdr 7 Nov, 2014 @ 9:38pm
great mod !! also good to see your working on that bug cuz my ships keep breking apart lol
Anreth 9 Oct, 2014 @ 11:02am
Hey, may it possible to make this pistion at the big size for small ships ?
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 2 Oct, 2014 @ 6:18pm
Updated piston and larger pistons will have to wait a bit:
My updated piston model uses a custom piston top part but the game does not support this feature yet
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 2 Oct, 2014 @ 2:07am
Unfortunately, walkable pistons are not a possibility because of their hardcoded collision boxes. However it's doable for rotors
LookAtMyHorse 1 Oct, 2014 @ 10:59pm
1x3x3 version needs a hole in the middle to walk through then i guess
and everyone secretly wants a 3x3 rotor with a hole in a middle to walk through x)
The Destiny 無限潛力 28 Sep, 2014 @ 6:25am
that would be awesome I would love to see that in game, keep up the good work.
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 28 Sep, 2014 @ 6:17am
I'm glad to hear that.
I indeed have an update in the works. Pistons will be a bit more stable, will collide less with themselves. I can't do better than that unfortunately.

Also, since my modding setup improved a lot recently thanks to the work of NimrodX, I might actually consider doing a 1x1x4 or 1x1x5 version, and a 1x3x3 version (for conveying large stuff).
The Destiny 無限潛力 28 Sep, 2014 @ 5:41am
sorry didnt mean to be so blunt just looking for feedback, good job with the mod works very well within the game it sould be an item already within the game.

update
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 26 Sep, 2014 @ 4:59pm
From what I can see, all pistons are bugged, not just the 1x1x1.
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 26 Sep, 2014 @ 10:55am
Ok, problem confirmed with the conveyor doors, both small and large.
I'm trying to understand what is going on
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 26 Sep, 2014 @ 8:10am
I will check it out
John Floyd 26 Sep, 2014 @ 5:11am
I can not put conveyor tubes on this piston =\
lylesonders 22 Sep, 2014 @ 1:24pm
I Resolved this issue by placing phontomx's magblastdoor block on either side of the piston so when it is retracted I lock the entire thing in place . I have began doing this with all my rotors and pistons to help resolve the issues of them destroying themselves due to acceleration and hard manuvers. So far this has worked for my larger ships. I only have a few small ships with pistons and rotors so haven't did much with them yet.
TheBoot 21 Sep, 2014 @ 4:53pm
Pistons and rotors are still a bit suspect in Space Engineers. I don't know how much mod authors can influence this. Pretty sure this is something the Keen programmers will have to address directly in the game.
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 21 Sep, 2014 @ 1:18pm
Maybe that was caused by too much speed, or maybe the piston head collided with something, or... You get the idea, this beast is quite sensitive right now.

I'm in the process of tweaking collisions and it may improve stability a bit for large ships, but this isnt enough. The piston head's collision box is stupid and it is dangerous to even place a small piston onto something... I'm investigating both issues but it gives me headaches
I'm hoping the next patch will solves some of these problems because I just can't fix everything by myself (some are hardcoded).
lylesonders 21 Sep, 2014 @ 1:00pm
I tried to use this mod on my large ship and it worked great until I accelerated in reverse, then my connector and the head of the piston came apart not sure if was a bug or something other than that.
TheBoot 20 Sep, 2014 @ 7:52pm
Nice work! I was hoping we'd get a short throw piston. Thank you!
SpiritOfDeath 20 Sep, 2014 @ 2:12pm
oops lol sorry
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 20 Sep, 2014 @ 2:11pm
There is already a small ship version included
SpiritOfDeath 20 Sep, 2014 @ 1:55pm
could you make thes for the small ship?
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 10:50pm
@Niko-lus: this a bug introduced by the latest patch (01.048). You have to go through the command panel until they fix it

@70R4: thanks for the info, I think it will help pinpoint the problem
Nik 19 Sep, 2014 @ 10:20pm
Maybe I'm doin something wrong, but for some reason I can't trigger these pistons with a Small Ship button.. :/
Tora 19 Sep, 2014 @ 7:38pm
I should also say, from experience, you want to lock your pistons down, lock down the elevator, or whatever it is at full retraction when in motion, they are more stable that way then in the extended state. Just a tip.
Tora 19 Sep, 2014 @ 7:36pm
Ya know, I found something interesting. You can stack 2 pistons with little issue. If you stack 3, you get more issues. However, they work great when you're not moving. So perfect for elevators that have to go a single stop a great height, and locked down when in motion through gear or maglocks. However, I found that I can't even hit half speed in my BC build due to 3 pistons on an elevator. Even with it locked down. I think it's inadequate bracing. Also, I think I need to check my maglock placement and ensure that they are attached to the ship itself, not the platform braces. Because I think they might not be locking properly if it's the latter.

My 2 piston elevator however, so long as it's locked down when moving has zero issues at top speed in the BC. It's never damaged even under the most grueling manuevers, just the 3 piston setup get's screwed. This is a very cool mod. I wish they'd fix the wobble in pistons like make them immune to velocity or something.
Impero 19 Sep, 2014 @ 6:54pm
I too would love to see a more extended piston. I hate the noises it makes when there's two pistons attached to one another. If you could make it you'd get my favorite :P
Morgan Le Fey  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 4:48pm
Ok, I will look into it a second time then
