@Dümbük Enişte not fully, the updated option is: to only generate aptitude on vanilla weapons. Still not quite helpful only if you're willing to give up the usability of aptitude gene on all modded weapons.

@Sleepless I assume for the most part it's the same catagories as with Ideoligions.

So Heavy Gun are things like LMG, Minigun, launchers, etc. while light is pistols, and "gun" is simply any gun.

If you aren't 100% certain, check the pawn's combat stats with the weapon in question equipped. If it's the correct type for their aptitude gene, it will show up as part of their accuracy calculations.

Also, it would help a lot if there was a description for the categories.
Like, the difference between gun, light gun and heavy gun. And what is the range threshold that divides short and long shots.

The error in the dev console is:
Could not load UnityEngine.Texture2D at Things/Ammo/HandGrenades/Frag in any active mod or in base resources.

I don't use cherry picker. Could it be due to combat extended? Otherwise I mainly use the Vanilla Expanded suite.

@-=GoW=-Dennis it works fine on my side. The grenade aptitude gene use frag grenades as image, perhaps because you removed it from the game like cherry picker or someway?

Mod works fine since the latest update, but it doesn't assign an image to the "Grenades" category, instead it pops up an error and the image on the grenades gene is the red X.

@deron only because I'm using that mod, no special reason. And for now there isn't a convenient way to test the aptitude gene, I use weapon class to group different aptitudes, which does not seem to be embodyed in the game.

For now if you want to test which aptitude is corresponding with a specific weapon, you can add all aptitude genes to a pawn equipped with the weapon, and check its accuracy stat, it'll show off which aptitude gene is activated.

Great mod, the large amount of generated aptitudes was a large problem for me. But one small issue remains for me. I have several weapon mods like Eltex Weaponry, Glitter Weaponry, Impact Weaponry and Vanilla Spacer Weapons - Explosive Bolt. Somehow Impact Weaponry gets its own aptitude gene, whilst the others seem to be assigned to industrial/spacer. Is this intentional or a bug? And how can I test which weapons are assigned to specific gene?

I am unsure if I asked this, but does this work/could this be made compatible with combat extended if it is not already? I think values wise since CE already has weapon aptitude values they just need to be copy pasted into these aptitudes, assuming that the effects were not changed. also thank you for the mod!

I just noticed that the "sapcer" aptitude doesn't include archo or ultratech weapons. Don't have mods that add such weapons, but there is a chance it may cause problems for someone

Mod still doesn't work for me. I'm not sure how I would be able to get the logs considering that I can't even get to the main menu with this mod enabled :steamsad:

I'll test it out later, but this seems like a no-brainer for anybody using a ton of gun mods and also simplifies cherry-picking a lot of firearms out of the game (guns galore series + some other gun mods)
