@Dxp88 yes it is definitely the reason because every tree in the game comes with a invisible vision occluder making the game recalculate bots visions in real time every time they see one.

I am hoping one day we will get 2D trees or something so it won't impact performances much but for now I cannot do a lot more than removing background trees and replacing them with bushes to save on your CPU.

Deleting parts of the map would definitely not be a good compromise between map look/feel and gameplay so I would recommend going for the vision occluder remover mod and see if it helps you from now, also could you tell what CPU do you have for reference ?

I'm pretty sure the performance is bad bc the map has too many trees. I suggest deleting some unnecessary parts. Awesome map though!

Update everyone, since the Malevelon Creek map brought a new wave of traffic on my older works I figured some updates could be good, so I reworked a good chunk of the map and the changes include the following:

2 more bridges but only for infantry.
New access to the top of the village from the Raven side.
New vehicle path in Farmstead.
Spawns, vehicle spawns, and ton of smaller assets and details have been tweaked.
I reduced the amount of assets on the map here and there, mostly in the background, this should improve performances but I will need feedback on that.

Note that currently the update only applies to Bärendorf, it's winterized version does not yet include those changes so you could go around both maps and spot the differences for now.

@MMMeteor thanks a lot, I'm sorry for your performances with the map, I did the best I could to try and optimize it without losing much of the look but having a massive forest that you can navigate through was part of the design, and it is hard to optimize that without having it look like shit.

I'll suggest you try my other maps, they might be better for your cpu at the exception of Temple Prime, also I'll try my best to have better performances for the next maps.

This has become my favorite map in the game, whenn my second and third favorite maps are offical maps. Even though I can't run the map with 60 bots due to my terrible computer, it's still awesome. would give award if I had points

@rabbitsniper2211 thanks for the compliment I appreciate that, if you enjoy this map don't hesitate to test the others I've made.

As for the suggestion, the single bridge was a deliberate choice to make it a essential choke point, I will however try to add another bridge, only for infantry tho, and if it plays well I may keep it and update the map.

could you add another bridge or make the river border flatter ? it would make the map even better
one of the best map in the workshop

@Player1 I have good memories from Altaï Range so if I have to recreate any of those 3 maps it would first be this one.

I think I may recreate some of those China Rising DLC maps too because they looked great.

But yeah if I have too remake Caspian I'll just boot BF2042 and spam F12 lmao
Player1 15 Feb, 2024 @ 9:00pm
@Kelsiel it looks like there is a Caspian Border remake in Ravenfield already too, if you want to reference it: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2794959352&searchtext=caspian
I think if you create a version it may look better though as this one was made for lower end PCs and has the graphics turned down I believe.

@Player1 I haven't played BF4 in a long time so I'll need to roam the originals before starting but yeah that I could do since I already remade a command & conquer RA3 map and I enjoyed recreating it.

As for the 43MB that is because I only use the ingame map editor, that way the map stays very light in memory and you can just forget about it while switching your mods and all.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll look further into it.

Really cool map, I'm surprised it only uses up 43 MB. With the hills and tree assets you have, I'm wondering if you could remake Altai Range, Caspian Border or Dragon Pass from Battlefield 4. You could also maybe use those maps as inspiration and make your own versions.
