1.6 now supported

dropping support for mechanoids and ancients since they are not going to be updated and remade.

Vanilla framework changed some things and support for Androids an Chemfuel expanded doesnt work right now. I dont have the time to fix it but take a look at it again in a few weeks.

I no longer play with Rimefeller and havent startet 1.6 so only minimaly testet
Please report any bugs you find.

@KahirDragoon. After being completely confused with this issue and another mod I had installed having a similar unexplained, strange issue - I decided to go nuclear and uninstall Rimworld, delete my entire AppData/LocalLow/Rimworld config folder and reinstall it again as if I had never played before along with redownloading all of my mods. It looks like something got corrupted in my steam workshop the morning of all of the VEF updates. This was rather strange. The error is gone after reinstalling.

(for clarification, when I say "your own mod resolved", I meant the VRE - Androids issue resolved itself when used with your mod)

Hi @KahirDragoon. I have been unsubscribing and subscribing from VEF multiple times, because it has been updated five times already in the past two days. The problem does exist when using the VEF August 14 10:19am release. However, it looks like the team has corrected several issues and the problem with VRE - Androids and your own mod is resolved in the VEF August 16 12:48pm release (which was only 1 hour ago). But, I also found the following. When using the VEF August 16 12:48pm release I have the other following problems:

Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded - Could not find type named RCP_VanillaExpanded.CompProperties_FillStorageFromRimefellerPipeNet

Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids - Could not find type named RCP_VanillaExpanded.CompProperties_RefillFromRimefellerPipeNet1

I'm not sure why either. Maybe something to do with how CompResourceStorage is behaving in the latest VEF releases? Although PipeSystem doesn't look to have been updated, it does use VFECore, which has.

@ColossalFossil Wierd. I just tried with the same mods as stated in your log but no errors for me. It works as intended. A little bit grasping at straws but have you tried to unsubcscribe and subscribe again so the mods are downloaded again?

Anybode else having this problem?

Hi @KahirDragoon. It looks like an incompatibility was introduced with a recent Vanilla Expanded Framework release (August 14 or 15). I haven't checked to see if it is game breaking because I am currently putting together a new mod pack for my next playthrough. It only seems to come up when VRE - Android is also loaded. Thank you, I was looking for something like this for VFE: Androids.

Would it be possible to remove the constant logging though? Right now my entire console log is spammed non-stop with CompRimefellerRefinerToPipeNet Buffer 4.000139 / 4

This makes finding errors in the console nearly impossible.

Thank you for the update on VCE Chemfuel storage, however, could you add it as a conditional if Vanilla Chemfuel expanded is detected? I don't have Vanilla Chemfuel expanded installed and this is causing errors on start game.

Added VCE Chemfuel Storage support. Now VCE Chemfuel Storage tank will be filled if connected to the Rimefeller Pipe Network.

@Hellbrink Adding direct compatibility for Refineries is "slightly" more complicated so that is the current way to use it. Rimefeller tank -> VCE tank -> refinery. If it is really important for them to work directly i might look into it again but no promises on that front.

@Sakujo True, i completly forgot about the neutroamine from Rimefeller. Will look into it.

I've noticed neither of those mods is making Rimfeller Neutramine Refiner compatible with Vanilla Races Expanded Android. Kind of strange because this would make totally sense to have the neutramine directly go into Neutro tank. For now one has to do a weird juggle of Refinery unloading bay to Neutro drain. https://i.imgur.com/GkZGImW.png Maybe you can add it?

Hi I noticed the Dye refinery in this mod Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded - Unofficial Expansion https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3231387549 doesnt automatically get compatibility probably since it has both neutroamine and chemfuel pipe networks on it

True they have the same purpose. Since they havent updated their mod or commented in over 2 years prior to 1.5 i considered it dead. So i made my own. Didnt expect the 1.5 update either.

Not sure how collaborating would work since my mod automatically patches probably 99% (except a few edge cases which need manual support) of all mods that are released or are ever to be released (unline Rimefeller or Rimworl change drastically). So there isnt really much to collaborate on.

@Stein Grenadier After testing it it also seems to happen with only Vanilla Vehicles. They dont get fueled after Spawning the refueling pumps and setting it to half fuel in dev mode. Only after being fueled by hand it suddenly works. So it doesnt seem to ahve anything to do with this mod or Rimefeller.

Just for information. This mod makes things of other mods being fueld with rimefellers chemfuel. Not the other way around. Since Rimefellers own buildings already work with Rimefeller this mod does not touch them in any way.

If yes then i dont know what sort of compatibility you since they already work with rimefeller.

Nah, it's different enough. I hate it because it's just impractical, and annoying to use. The ground-penetrating scanner is a damn slow machine already, and when it discovers a deposit of deepchem when I'm in desperate need of steel, plasteel, or gold, I get pissed.

Not directly, no. You will not be aible to pump chemfuel directly into VCE tanks. You could use something like Chemfueller for that.

Instead this mod make most if not all things that can be refueld by VCE to also work with Rimefeller.

Nope, probably 90% or more of all things that can be refueled with chemfuel should just work. Everything that works in the same way base game things work should be compatible. Only special cases need to be added by hand. And I added those i know of.

Technical stuff: The patch searches for all things that have a Refuelable Comp and Chemfuel and adds the Rimefeller Comp.

I thought you had to patch each of the items individually. I know for a fact that there is no compatibility with the Rimfeller Mod as said Mod currently stands, but I'll test it the next time I reload the game and let you know.

Yes, full real compatibility would be great since im using both mods myself. My original plan was to make everything compatible with everything. But at first glance they seem to work quite differently under the hood. In Rimefeller for ex. there is quite some logic in the tank, so cant just rip it out of the network. So this is the first step. I plan to make similiar patch for VCE after i familiarise myself better with how it works. And after that maybe i can make them trully compatiable. But that will take some time.

This may sound a bit stupid, but is it possible to make Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded and Rimeeller compatible via a shared tank?
I use both in my current game (Rimefeller produced, VCE distributes) with siphons, a shared tank would be awesome (ofc. your comp. mod removes the need because Rimefeller does now everything, VCE can)

Very high chance it just works. All other chemfuel generator mods i tried worked. But dont have time to test before tomorrow.

This Mod is one of my all-time favorite, and most balanced, Mods that add huge power sources. It is SORELY lacking Rimfeller Mod support. Would you mind patching that in, should you have the time?
