Seems to be some issue where music will cut out / stutter with this enabled. It seems to be related to game speed. While paused the audio is normal, on x1 speed it starts to pop and seems to be worse the faster you set the game speed. I assume this is the same thing as what phso912 is seeing. He mentioned P-Music but I also get this with that disabled.

There is an issue with the game music shutting down intermittently. Could you please check it?

( It seems to me that there could be a conflict with the p-music mode. )

Updated to 1.6

On my end, Camera+ made things a lot quieter for some reason after the update, so I added an automatic adjustment (can be turned off in settings) to amplify sound volume. Only applies to Camera+ users

Really sad to see all the mentions of log spam and sadly confirm its happening to me too. This is, without a doubt, one of the most impressive additions to the game I have ever seen. I hope you get it worked out Blue. <3

I too get insane log spam from this mod. Filled up my root drive entirely in one case. (Hundreds of gigabytes)

I'm also getting log spam when I use debug mode. Not sure if it's all about sounds, but there definitely are mutiple errors with Birds sound mentioned.

Haven't personally gotten this issue, but large Player.log files is a known issue when modding Rimworld, and I can see how this mod could cause it. Since it seems to be an internal issue within the Unity engine, there doesn't seem to be anything I could do to fix it.

If you get this issue and don't care about the contents of Player.log (which is just debug and error messages produced by the game), there's an easy workaround - setting Player.log file to be read-only.

On Windows, the file is located at C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios. Open Properties and set the attribute to be Read-only.

Yeah, the FMOD error is caused by too many sounds being played at once. Increasing minimum bird distance to 30 fixed this issue for me.

Typically the audio would just cut off in this situation, so it might be an Unity bug present in this specific version.

I also got 50+ GB log files. It spams such like this:
Error executing m_FMODChannel->setFrequency(m_Pitch * m_DopplerPitch * m_BaseFrequency) (The specified channel has been reused to play another sound. )
After I disabled this MOD, the errors are gone (for the moment I guess)
Maybe to much sounds at once in a big colony.

Beware any sound mod especially in older hardware will stuck in error loop after quitting game, PC will continuously write error log until your hard-drive fills. Since removing all audio mods, I no longer get Fmod error and also don't have 50 gb Player.log.

Great work so far in updating this mod! I was wondering however if you might take a look into something. When this mod is installed with a mod that makes rivers freeze over in the winter, such as Water Freezes (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3278128973) , the sound effect for rivers does not stop when the river is completely frozen over. Other than that, the mod works beautifully!

I added sounds for social interactions and fighting, which for reasons I have decided to make it a separate mod...

@TrueBlueSwablu haha yea the Social Interaction sounds would be the Holy Grail for this mod. Imagine having pawns say some random "The Sims" greeting when talking. Truly EPIC!

Hard for me to debug that based on that error alone. If you want to help pinpoint the issue (assuming its with the mod/mod interaction), could you try disabling sound effects in the mod option window and see if there's one that triggers it?

On exiting game to desktop, it freezes, and the log is spammed with this line:

C:\buildslave\unity\build\Modules/Audio/Public/sound/SoundChannel.cpp(393) : Error executing m_FMODChannel->stop() (The specified channel has been reused to play another sound. )

When I remove Ambient Rim, this issue disappears. Admittedly, I have 180+ mods in my list, so it may be some weird interaction, but wanted to report it in case you know what causes it.

Social interactions sounds like an amazing idea, will try to implement that when I get back into modding. I think steam geysers already has an existing (albeit not very noticeable) sound.

Also it would be very cool if pawns made some sounds when socialize, although I'm not sure if that is as easy as with other sounds in this mod. You might find useful the patch [github.com] that one person made for Musical Instruments mod, as it adds a sound for pawn activity.

Hello ! I'm having an issue with the mod (which became essential for me, so quite a bummer) ;

I get a massive lagspike (Game freezing completely for 1-3sec) every in-game morning at 7am.
Only have this issue on an Extreme Desert Coastal map. (Doesn't occur on non-coastal extreme desert for exemple)

I'm assuming your mod is updating the map's layout every morning for potential sound sources ? (I have 0 knowledge on the subject so just speculating)
No errors logged whatsoever

I've a very lite and vanilla-ish modlist (Even tho that does'nt mean much for incompatibilities/conflicts, but hey, i'm clueless)

Besides that, excelent mod, ty for sharing, Have a good day !

I am noticing that on loading into a new map I have to flip through the settings again to get the sounds to start up. Has happened several times. I have quite an extensive list, and your mod still works, but I figured I would point that out.

I do not use Camera+ due to the issues it causes and found the ambient levels just about right.

I do feel like some sounds should be specific to certain types of biomes.. or maybe something like if a tree has no sand or whatever tiles within so many cells then it will make bird sounds?

Suggestion: Change the bird sound that plays near trees to the call of an eagle or something on desert biomes. Would fit better
