Mmm I'll have to bring up my comp that had the original files but it's definitely doable to update this. I don't know where I'd stick cathay though. Even putting in ogre kingdoms was a bit of a stretch already.

What new nations are there? I admit I haven't looked at this in a long time.

Is this still updated with the new nations?

There are some things, like sites or spells, that care about mountains specifically. This does not mean, a map without them is unplayable. It would be a fitting terrain type for the litteral mountain ranges on this map, is all.
Also all provinces that were supposed to have border mountains or highlands (all "mountain" provinces I guess) have the modifier "known holy site". Keep it in or remove it, I will not bother you about it again either way.

Ah upon further examination it seems that the dominions 6 modding documentation lied to me. The red province connections are actually impassable connections??? The orange ones are mountain passes. I'll fix this ASAP.

I've looked at the map editor, they all have the highlands terrain type. Is the 'mountain' terrain type really all that necessary/different that it needs to be included at all costs?

Whatever color the mountain connections have, they are not working in game. Also, in game, no province on the map has the terrain type mountain.

That seems very unusual considering that they say they are hills right there in the map editor. The mountain connections are red connections in the editor as well, which according to the dominions 6 documentation on the website is the new mountain connection.

There seem to be no mountain connections on this map and no provinces with the terain type "mountain" that i could find. Provinces, that, visually, seem to be meant to be mountains are instead plains or highlands and contain an unusually high number of common holy sites (monastery of light mostly). I can`t describe this problem any better, hence i used the quote. Please look into this.

Mountains are a province connection type not a terrain bit mask, unless you meant hills.

Please check, if this applies to your map too, since I found holy sites to be in overabundance and mountains seemingly missing...

Quote from the Faerun adventure map diskussion:

"The quick fix is to find any #terrain command where the second argument has a value of 4194304 or higher. This was the dom 5 bitmask value for mountains, but is in dom 6 the bitmask to indicate that the engine should place more holy sites there than usual. Take the value of the second argument, subtract 4194304 (dom 5 mountains) and then add 8388608 (dom 6 mountains). Or a quicker way is just to add 4194304 to the existing value.

So, for example:
#terrain 15 4196136
becomes
#terrain 15 8390440"

AMAZING. Many thanks. I don't like to play on tw warhammer map without the true start locations. So this mod finally let me play with sombres warhammer nations. Thank you again :)

If they spawned there they would only have 3 province connections which is potentially quite crippling as a faction.

I think there is a case for the Wood Elves to start in Yn Edri Eternos or whatever it is called, where the Great Oak lives. As there is only 1 wood elf player, not 4 as in TW, their potentially stationary tree god should be right in the middle of the woods.

Seems to work well now with my limited testing to date.
of Anwyl  [author] 14 Feb, 2024 @ 8:44pm
Ok I have retested this with several nations now and I have confirmed it works for me. Please let me know if there are any other issues.
of Anwyl  [author] 14 Feb, 2024 @ 8:41pm
Ah my apologies. I forgot dominions auto deleted all of your inputted coding if you save the map in the map editor for some reason. I will update this ASAP.

Struggling to get this working. Started as a Dwarf but was in Woodelf territory, then as a wood elf and was in Ulthuan. What's the trick?
