Seems like new BM update fixed low gibs fading time and I've also noticed a new bug. Blood puff particles no longer shown on gibbing due to low max particles limit. It will only show them sometimes with bm_oldragdolls_extraeffects set to 1. Engine is also increased gibs velocity force.

scientists don't have any AI funcs for using their weapons, the best you can do is replacing security guard character so he looks like a scientists.

It's possible but isn't there a problems when you give mp5 and shotgun to scientists and guards? I remember someone said that scientist can't use mp5 correctly.

I found that bm_oldragdolls_pregib is unstable with barrels and tripmines on new beta. Setting to 0 will solve issues.

Would it be possible to add features from Half-Life 2 onto Black Mesa? For example, NPCs like Scientists and Guards picking up better weapons, and Guards giving you ammo? As theres unused voicelines for these features that don't exist in Black Mesa.

Are there any specific steps you know of for regular mods in general instead of directly BM:BS? I've tried doing a few things based on the discussions from discord but it isn't working.

Someone found a way to run sourcemod in BM:BS in BlackMes'a official discord channel. I haven't really tried it because I have'nt played BM:BS at all. I don't remember how BM:BS with sourcemod was achived.

you can carry small ragdolls such as houndeyes and headcrabs. If there's custom models for NPCs they usually has broken weight and can be carried as well.

hey i just reinstalled the game, found this mod and im playing around with it- after reading this i wondered, my gibs arent disappearing, and that must be cause i have this in my autoexec:
g_ragdoll_maxcount "999"
g_ragdoll_important_maxcount "999"

Ah, just noticed they are fading now way faster for some reasons. Probably new update changed it.

Serverisde gibs has their own fade code hardcoded into the engine. I haven't reallly touched gibs fading, there's an option for ragdolls only but not for gibs.

@Hds46 can i have question, it seems like BM removes all gibs anyway but the arms legs and torso if an NPC explode, your mode removes all the gibs after time, is there a way to keep just the legs torso and arms? Somehow disable the fading of these entities?

if someone can find a solution for disappearing gibbs to not disappear, it would be awesome. it's very annoying. if this problem could be solved, this model would be perfect.

I dont understand, I installed the most recent build of metamod, and the most recent sourcemod dev build, put them in bms, and run the game, but there is no BM folder in the CFG folder.
Old_ragdolls.cfg does not exist, and I cannot create it, no matter how many times i reinstall sourcemod and metamod, or close and reopen the game.

you will need to edit bm_ commands inside cfg/bm/old_ragdolls.cfg file.
As for gib fading i haven't really touched gib fading in this mod.
You could try to increase "sv_ragdoll_max" count or try to find gib commands with "find gib" command in console

Thank you! Now I am having an issue with the gibs fading even though bm_oldragdolls_ragdollfade is set to "0".

I was also using:
g_ragdoll_lvfadespeed "0"
g_ragdoll_fadespeed "0"
In autoexec.cfg before to disable the fade but now even that isn't working. I've tried removing those commands from autoexec to make sure it wasn't conflicting and no still no dice.

Just another bug found: ragdolls doesn't save "Color" value Just enter command "ent_fire npc* color 255 0 0" and kill some NPC. It works fine with default ragdolls.

Found the problem, apparently AVG thinks part of Sourcemod is a virus and was quarantining it so it wasn't working

i can't find old ragdolls cfg either, still no bms cfg bm folder even when using dev versions of sourcemod and metamod. please advise what builds worked correctly for you.

I followed the install instructions, yet I cannot find old_ragdolls.cfg. also I dont know if this is a typo but I dont have any file named "bm" in my cfg folder. Black Mesa\bms\cfg\bm

I found bm_oldragdolls.smx F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Black Mesa\bms\addons\sourcemod\plugins but no old_ragdolls.cfg
