!!!

It was going to be the next item to be published, i was unhappy on how unorganized it was!
You can find it again down the list of my workshop items, all it is missing is the audio.cache files. I should probably publish it sooner than later!

this is awesome, also what happened to the japenese style music that was present in your rising sun collection

Oh hi, could you explain this in depth?

Does this fix also the weird FPS issue at the abandoned hotel finale? It's something I hope you can find this problem
Trunten 2 Mar, 2024 @ 2:08pm
don't worry, it's okay
I appreciate the communication and clarity
just making sure we're all on the same page here

my comments are open on the items and profile
cheers

Oh no no, i'm sure there is nothing wrong with your Update+Patch mod!

Oh but for sure i have linked all three parts plus yuor mod for people to find them easily, should they see my mod onto the workshop, perhaps not everyone found the version on gamemaps!
Trunten 2 Mar, 2024 @ 1:59pm
i checked my comments recently and didn't see anything like that
perhaps it was on the original by the author
regardless, even the missing content fix helps then it does the job
anything else, i don't know... who knows what else Last Stand's wannabes breaks
whatever, i'm fine with this for now since we don't know exactly for sure what
you're linking to my content which also acts like crediting so that's fair
rather not change too much out of respect for "surgeon" and losing compatibility

mmh.. some people did complain about the missing textures.
My mod basically loads all the textures inside the materials folder before any file.

By this i'm guessing that Vpks fails to find the paths leading to vtf textures files simply for them beign inside another vpk? Structurely i mean, not all custom props and textures give errors.

Mhh.. beats me. But this mod should fix the issue! It weights a lot because i haven't checked all textures one by one to extract only the missing ones, it was really something put up really fast.
Trunten 2 Mar, 2024 @ 1:48pm
we're still curious what exactly is in this file of yours
and if anything really is broken or not
i can easily get another update out if necessary
but nobody else has complained about this same claims you have
Trunten 2 Mar, 2024 @ 1:47pm
my versions here and game maps should be exactly as the author had them
myself, RF, and anyone else who helped... shouldn't have made any text changes
missions and addoninfo files should be the same
my versions should've only had the finale fixes plus linking to missing content fixes
mainly only necessary fixes to maintain compatibility for servers and others

Could it be that perhaps since its subdivided into 3 parts that the files are looking for the materials somewhere elses, which is not cointained inside its own vpk? I haven't tried this yet, but if that would happen to be the case the campaign could easily be fixed, all materials files weight approxiametly 300mbs, they fit inside one vpk just barely.

By the way, this Custom Campaign is really one of my top favourites, so much the mod i'm working on would happen to be "Left 4 Dead 2: Rising Sun", a "Campaign Specific Mod" to convert everything into a Japanese version of Left 4 Dead, Hd Arcade Survivors, voices included! Complete new Japanese Soundtracks, Zombie Combat Included! Last but not least, Map Specific Textures for Special Infected! Please check it out if you have the time ! It's on gamemaps ^^ (By the way it's really broken so i'm fixing it like hell!)

I'm talking about the version on Gamemaps, the info files spelled "version 3", differently from the Steam version which was "version 6". So i thought perhaps the ones on Steam to be a different version working on the old Left 4 dead props? The ones that the Workshop Item "Missing Content Fix" has been created for, but looking back again, there were no official props or textures giving errors, just the new, cool, ones. So it must be a different version? Ah.. i wouldn't know even if you asked me.

So i tried a shot in the dark, what would happen if a took all the materials file from the older, gamemaps version and load them before this version of Yama? And that's how i happened to fix it.

It's magic!
Jokes aside, i am responding just now because i have been busy the whole day working on a cool mod. It does not contain the Missing Content Fix at all! I'm not sure where i have read this but it didn't seem to fix all of the errors, yet there was a version of yama that didnt present any errors at all and didn't need fixes or anything elses, so i started wondering how could that be?

Looking at all the errors they'd just look like simple missing textures or misplaced, perhaps corrupted? So that's when it came to me, looking inside the addoninfo files i had noticed the two version of the same campaign were updates afar from each other.
Trunten 1 Mar, 2024 @ 3:59pm
I suspected that as well, olde, yet it's larger
Olde 1 Mar, 2024 @ 3:55pm
I assume this just contains the assets from the Missing Content Fix, in which case yeah, this would be unnecessary.

So it's just some random texture pack?
Even so, we could link to it off ours.
We'll download this and investigate it.
Jhoshua K. Wolfox  [author] 1 Mar, 2024 @ 1:56pm
Oh but its not the campaign itself, it does not contain any major files that would subtract players from downloading the official versions uploaded here on Steam's Workshop.

This mod simply adds (from my guessing, which proved to be kinda right?) missing files which have, whithout them, broken the Steam's version. Check for yourself..
Trunten 1 Mar, 2024 @ 12:40pm
I also don't see how this is "fixed" when the siza is smaller
Trunten 1 Mar, 2024 @ 12:38pm
I'd like to ask you to remove this.
I appreciate you linked to my official version.
I have not gotten any missing content complaints.
If there are problems, my team and I will look into ourselves.
It doesn't needed another version uploaded because this causes problems for server owners.
If you comment on mine with what you think needs fixed, then we'll look into it.
I'll give you a day to remove this before I take action.
I already had permission, and with RF, from the original author to have our fixed version.
