What is the point of the orbiter? Is there a different creation you made that uses that part of the ship?

Speed mode was on the delta as Overdrive, but the logic that controls those modes is completely new in the Echo, all the logic was stripped from the ship to remake it.

Sorry everyone, life has been busy and I have for the most part not been on steam. Which can be good considering when i do return It will be with renewed interest and new ideas/approaches, I will at-least try to respond more. If something(especially more recent) gets broken; let me know, and i will try to correct it as soon as possible!

so im just half way thru my first playing in this boat an ... you ever have that experience where you down load a work shop creation and your like "omg the guy who did this is like me but like much more polished and slicker and better .. im walking thru this and im like ah doors in the floor to access the pumps and so you can repair damaged bit i that just like i do ok that's cool they have all there stuff on a hud like what i do instead of it being three screens and 12 dials its one monitor i always wanted to do that but i dont know how .... ... so yeah basically that's what my experience has been like so far just like a successions of oh i do that to's ah that's a clever way of doing that .. i must try that too and that's so cool sorry im fanboying a bit over this but it is that cool and the level of thought thats gone into not just making it look good but functional is just yes so good keep it up and if you ever want to colab some time hit me up

i'm just curious (sorry if I didin't see it), do you plan on makeing anything makeing use a pressure, such as a working moonpool (where the air pressure keep the water out)

I did a Tiny update that helps the hoist a little, It isn't a fix, just something for now. The pad also bugged out and didn't complete it's cycle multiple times in a row. I am certain this is due to some update and due to the complexity of that system, will take me some time to resolve it.

Well I can confirm that the hoist is bugging out and getting stuck which was not the case before, I'll have to investigate further.

Alright, and just to clarify, have you hit the button to raise the hoist while the landing pad is down and does have the helicopter on it? (The hoist doesn't know there is a helicopter) or is it moving on it's own when the water is rough? The hoist and pad communicate via pivot position. I'd have to try and keep the hoist from bucking when the ship moves harshly.

its your helicopter, seems to just lower the elevator and then lower the boat hoist ontop of it (i think when in water with some waves)

Are you using your own helicopter? Trying to work out what it’s doing for you. Is it moving when you don’t hit the button, or when you do. And if possible can you tell me how to create the problem on my end.

could you perhaps fix the boats elevator not going up with the helicopter? it goes up with the helicopter sometimes, however most of the times the boat hoist hits the rotor blades and destroys a lot of stuff

The ship isn’t supposed to stay capsized, at-least that would be the case if someone had rememberer to put in the system to self right it lol. Hence the ports location given the low draft

The bilge pumps stay on so long as there is water in the ship, the abandon ship system is based on a number from all the sensors added together, and it simply suggests that the ship is soon to sink unless you rid the water

Thank you for being one of the few to call out the bilge system. Around the time of the ship’s release, the space update came about along with the update to how fluid and gas works. That update set the release back by weeks as i tried to install a bilge i to the ship that it wasn’t designed to receive.

Furthermore my understanding of the new gas system often put the ship on the seabed in mere minutes before i finally settled on something that worked, even if just barely. That being said, with my work on the sub I do plan to redo the system entirely and continue to pursue my dream of a hard to sink ship, your comment further motivates me.

It is a great ship runs amazingly until flipped upside down or intakes any water above the bottom of the ship. Instead of the water being pulled down and out it is in revers and being pumped up and out. leading to a capped sized situation, and for a career run not recommended or if you plan on saving the ship might as well take it back to the work shop to have it rebuilt in sandbox instead.

now if i am using the ship let me know and take what i said before with a grain of salt but it would be nice to force the bilge pumps to run even if the ship is saying abandon ship.:steamthumbsup:

this is probably one of the better vehicles i have used and i would love to see like a mech vehicle almost like the prawn suit in subnautica. but its still a really well designed and cool concept everything works really well

I did attempt an extension style one but for whatever reason it wouldn’t work, soon as i stood up i would start sliding towards the back and the shit chucked back and forth to the point of making it borderline unstable

The Hydrofoils are fixed and do not extend. The Speed mode switches to the lower props and changes the fin pitch to perform a sorta hybrid hydrofoil mode.

Also I might have messed up the jet engine wiring, once they are running, the generators put out a huge amount of power which if i am right feeds right back into the engines and creates a loop.

The bottom 3 circuit breakers are also odd, something weird happened in the nodes be it a hard point supplying power or some other strangeness. When i play next ill see if i can’t take another crack at it.

Love this ship so much however i find that the circuit breakers do not cut power to what they are supposed to cut power to, for example if i cut power to the jet engines they still run as if they never lost power in the first place

It’s simply detecting player which resets the drives. That being said , due to Helena i have been without power since Friday morning, we were in the storms direct path so i can’t do anything with any of my crafts. I will continue to answer questions as i can.

I'd recommend adding some weight blocks and slow down the winch speed for the anchors. I find 1.5 speed with just 3 extra weight blocks work best

Further tests shows that the APU overheats pretty quick and the Port side pipe for the diesel ports appear to go no where, with time I will update the APU further , first I must clean up the mess.

That being said, the main rudders are not a part of the orbiter system and course hold is on by default so make sure that gets switched off because the 2 systems will compete
