This spurred me. Now i have done my own work and not a reskin of yours. A little bit more work, but i could implement some of my ideas and expand my knowledge.

Those screens look pretty nice. Nice blue style survivors. I like Rochelle's shirt with the stand-out print.
If that's what you've done, then go for it.
If you're using my stuff as base, then a little bit at the footer pointing here would be nice.

@teammenship: sorry, english is not my default language :D. I just wanted to say that i accept your decision. whatever you decide its ok.

my position is to publish only what is my work or ask for permission and show credits. to declare each others mod as own work is unacceptable (my opinion).

i try to give my best to implement my ideas, depending on my actual experience, of course. only paste + copy its not my goal. i wont publish such stuff


in the last days I create my own mod, based on the original survivor files. it contains nothing of your mod, accept the color white (not your white!) in different variations. Every survivor gets their special changings (color, shirt-signs, glowing symbol, for ellis and rochelle some small reskins of their head: hair and cap, scars, makeup, tattoos etc.) Thus it differs from your stuff.

[3] so coach has a white shirt, as does ellis, as does rochelle. does that mean that they are using their default textured pants and accessories? what about nick?

It's great that you and the community are able to make reskins. It's great that you want to learn and make nice stuff. however, if its the exact same texture with a simple additional symbol/icon pasted on the top, I'd be less than happy. As long as it's not this, it should be fine. :)

@teammenship: [1] First i made it for my own use and fun.
Few days earlier i upload a spray pack with some screenshots. they show l4d2 survivors with my small reskin of your work and someone ask for this.

[2] i made a reskin auf my HUD and I found no survivor icons with white clothes. i repaint the color clothes. (s_panel_xxx_incap.vtf, s_panel_xxx.vtf)

[3] coach wear this referee shirt and stripped shoes, ellis white shirt and his cap show an ACDC Icon, Rochelles white shirt shows another symbol.
There are only discreet reskins and because it's your work, i don't want to pass this without your permisson, of course.

if you refuse your permission its ok.

for now i'm a novice. step for step i'll enlarge my experience to create sophisticated reskins and mods. but already at this time i know this is a lot of work.

[1] first off "for my own use" and "when i upload them" mean different things. either you would be using it for personal use, or you'll be uploading them to your workshop. which is it? the last thing I want is the workshop being saturated with more of the exact same thing.

[2] second, what do you mean by "incap-icons" ?

[3] third, you say "Only white its tiresome for my eyes"... what would you even be doing then? changing the color slightly? but leaving them basically the same?

If you want to use it for your own private use, I might understand, but making minor changes and then resubmitting basically the same project - I do have issues with.
I dont want to come off as heartless; even something as simple as these mods took hours to get right.
