Following an identical route, I'd love to see an Adepta Sororitas Vehicle Pack, and an Adepta Sororitas Armor variant pack. I'd love to even collaborate to do some of the research to make it happen. The Castigator has an autocannon variant, and the Exorcist has a conflagration rockets option, which are anti-infantry, according to what I've read/played a little on tabletop.
To my understanding the Sororitas are fairly OP depending on who they're fighting. That said, they still lack a lot of transport-ability, as well as some specialized units that'd greatly improve their capabilities. Also, fighting the Militarum as Sororitas - sucks, a lot, but it can be fun.
You might have a conflicting mod.
If you can muster a line of Shadowswords supported by Tank Commanders and Engineseers then you better be rewarded with some killing. Hope up u had fun!
What I do is I use tech priests behind the shadowsword with the damage boost ability and tank commanders to stand beside the shadowsword and use their gunner's kill on site ability. The result is the damage of the Shadowsword is pretty much doubled. And in some circumstances I'm one shotting Eldar and Ork superheavy units. Other times a single shot kills at the very least half their half if they're in significant cover.
For people that think it's underwhelming, you're not supporting it right. Use damage buffs, get a tank commander, keep tech priest nearby. This thing can literally create an unbreakable defensive line for those that wanna turtle and economy build for a couple dozen turns. A half dozen of them can easily be a game ender when supported this way.
I do not mean any disrespect by requesting more units or discrediting what you've already done, but, your unit packs are -very- good and of DLC quality.
So, I hypothesize getting the Hellhound as a future unit. I have always been disappointed with the Devildog, and reading about it's variant made me realize that the GM doesn't have a true infantry killer outside of the Baneblade. So, having it as a dual research (Like your Dreadnaught) is very appealing.
Granted; this then competes with your Leman Demolisher, although a tier early and without follow up researches to bring out full potential.
Granted; I guess I'll try doing some brute-force testing in Debug to check damages more thoroughly.
For my criticism; it's actually the Vandetta. I feel like it's damage needs to be tweaked down, slightly. Not by a lot, but, it was frequently doing more damage than the rest of the army I had, bar, outfitted Tank Commanders. Combined with it's movement range and decent survivability, I felt no reason to make any of the other aircraft, save for a handful of Marauder Bombers for the Drukhari.
I suggest a small damage tweak and monitor from there.
In general combat, full payload takes the unit more-or-less completely out of the fight for several turns. Trying to use it as a last ditch effort to kill a troublesome unit has really been the only reason I'm incentivised to use it.
As for the Shadowsword. I never felt like it was a problem either. Infact when I first used it I was kind of under-whelmed. It's damage against anything I was hitting was not spectacular and then it dawned on me that it's just like the Baneblade in the sense of it being durable and a 'not-quite-super unit'. It's good but not game changing on it's own like say a Stormsurge or Scorpions. The 4 tile range is it's compensation for it's damage.
I had fought against a Drukhari, Tau and your Farsight. And it's damage on a majority of their units, even cities was not anything special.
Manticore feels perfectly balanced. It's damage is just outright comparable to Basilisks in most circumstances with a penchant for armor over infantry.
Yes they can damage things out of range, but they can't defend themselves well. If you make several Manticores to kill a city for example, the enemy can easily wipe them out, or at least drive them back given variable circumstances. It's no different than sieging with Basilisks.
Full payload also doesn't seem to be an issue, in my experiences. Even with a moderate cooldown, cuts the sustained damage off completely. In the hypothetical siege situation, that gives the city time to heal, and the defenders time to counterattack.
This would open up the variation of units to a completely new level.
The unit import/export has finally been unlocked?
Has there been any guides written on how to or is it still on a "Need to know the correct Proxy Discord people" - basis?
I'm not a player on this side. But one friend of mine plays this side all the time. He rarely uses manticores, preferring to use the Leman Russ Vanquisher, which is tougher and more powerful.
But in my opinion I don't think it's necessary to move to tier 6 as the manticore only has one model and is easy to destroy. And in the beginning it doesn't do that much damage and if it comes out too much it will be lacking to support the front line. Maybe add trait heavy to the main weapon. Since it can shoot infantry, small vehicles like bikers, towers, and cities, it can move and shoot a bit too efficiently when fully upgraded, and the full payload skill is pretty powerful. Maybe increase the cooldown to 10. Such as grenade, hunter-killer missiles, things like that.
However, you may not need to adjust it at all. After all, my friend and probably many others should go with the Leman Russ Vanquisher instead, since it adds a multi-melta gun and can be used until late game.
What do you think of Manticore?
It is strong vs cities. Player can just destroy city from distance. Perhaps moving to Tier 6 would be better?
yeah yeah must try it.
Makes it less effective against infantry and focuses more on Titan-tier units. This would prevent mid-level soldiers like the Kataphron Destroyer from getting killed in one shot and give them a chance to fight back. (My friend used a Knight Crusader and was killed by a Shadowsword cannon 2-3 shot with 50+ damage
I want to keep the 4 cell range. I want keep it's ability to kill super-heavy units 1v1.
How about: 2 attack x 24 damge reduced to 1 attack x 36 damage.
This makes it weaker vs infantry. It will still take down super-heavy units 1v1.
Shadowsword is too cheating. The other faction's late game units can't compete with it at all, with a 4-cell range, and with the increased damage of shooting large units, even a scorpian of the same price would need at least 2-3 units. In order to fight it alone (without other units joining), it is possible to reduce its shooting damage and reduce its shooting range to 3 squares, equal to other shooting units, and then add something instead. Go in with your thoughts.
I'm sorry if I caused you any inconvenience.
And thank you for your amazing work!
you could make the manticore more accurate and farther range than the basilisk but do less damage simply because of the munition type.
bassy could also be less accurate since its a giant cannon firing at long range of dispersion. this is of course for balance sake, could just edit manty values and be done with it.
The lore is all over the place. Units and weapons do what the authors need them to do generally.
Do you think you the Manticore could use a tad more range?
The lexicarium says about the range of Manticore(M) and Basilisk(B) weapons.
Earthshaker (cannon): "...hits targets at a distance of more than 15 km".
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Earthshaker_(Cannon)
Manticore (rocket): "A standard missile has a range of 30 kilometers." https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Manticore_(Missile)
That is, it turns out if the B exceeds the range of the M in standard weapons by about 2 times. If this is projected into the game, then does the M range 6(B)x2 =12. Maybe Manticore needs to be changed, or am I not taking something into account?
Snow Ball... I have no idea. If you can figure out which mod being above this causes the crash, I might be able to fix it.
As for patches. I'd rather be making more models. People are welcome to make patches for other mods. I'll even help out.
Thanks for the bug report flak88nik. I'll fix soon.
But with that in mind is there any chance a patch for your standalone unit mods might be coming?
You have a great collection of mods and thanks for the minitutorial in Friendly Zone one.
